A similar upgrade was planned at Dover but never came to fruition, if built it would have provided an elevated link to Singapore Polytechnic's eastern end, including the Maritime Academy and School of Design, thus reducing the congestion at SP's single link to Dover. As of now the only timeframe when such plans can be revived will be when Dover Forest BTOs begin construction later throughout the decade.

that's interesting, i wonder how it would have been like if the plan was realised

Excellent observations and very well laid out video. If you travel on the Tube in London you will see over 150 years of changes, modifications and upgrades, and therefore numerous construction styles and techniques.

In 2010s, there is a need to upgrade the MRT station to allow more distancing. 2:30, do reflects that SMRT is trying the best to squeeze whatever space to fit top-up kiosk (TUK) with cash acceptance.

Bukit Batok should have an exit at the opposite end as well where many HDBs are located within walking distance. Currently commuters need to detour to the other end and loop back again at the escalators facing opposite

It's such a good thing that Clementi station has another separate link bridge, along with the existing one that was built together with the station, as it is always crowded with people there, even during off-peak hours.

You can film stations very well ! In this video and in both the "least used stations" and "Stevens underpass" videos. I'm honestly impressed 👍🏽 + the *4x speed is good. I hate KZbinrs that don't do that. More success to you.

"COVID" has delayed the completion date of Bukit Canberra by a lot. I've seen residents complaining about this online. As of now the link bridge doesn't seem to have any signs of progress.

Stations like Tampines could benefit from a linkway like this but underground between EWL and DTL. Something similar to Expo where commuters don't need to tap out and tap back in. The current situation forces commuters to tap out, walk some 500-600m to the DTL exit adjacent to Tamp int and then go back down and tap in again. An underground linkway like in Expo would have mitigated all this and made interchange at Tampines easier.

If only this can be done in Malaysia, quite upset that the existing design means that all utility locations within the station would block the construction of new exits 😢 but I hope they do try to squeeze in some in the future

I think they upgraded Clementi so that there is space for them to build an escalator going down to the crl, and to accommodate more people in the station.

the exits at clementi are not underutilised, as it leads to the theatre in 123 clementi mall, the large ntuc, and don’t forget … the clementi stadium and fitness centre p.s. don’t know why this suddenly popped into my mind but these are the 5 worst mrt stations in my opinion 5. shenton way and marina bay - this station shouldn’t exist because there is already downtown and marina bay in the vicinity. barely anyone alights or boards and it is a waste of people’s time for when tel4 and tel5 will open and when people would want to come to work from the east coast side towards orchard. no bus stops directly serve the station and you can literally walk 3 minutes from marina bay to shenton way. marina bay is also awful as there are NO UNDERGROUND LINKWAYS and exit 4 leads into literally nowhere in the middle of a field. poor security guard who must watch that lacklustre portion of the station. raise her pay. 4. chinatown - its not about the layout, but the problem is the signage system. instead of just showcasing a b c d, etc they decided to write out the names of the locations as well, making a lot of text be dispersed everywhere … i mean then what’s the point of the yellow exit guide manifest sign then, right 🤷♂️? also ugh i hate the fact that you must go the correct way in order to transfer from the expo-bound platform to the nel. i guess sbs is assuming a lot of ppl are tourists who will tap out at this station but NO … i want to simply change ahhh … 3. bishan - its not about ghosts 👻, its about the conditions of the station. the wall beside that extremely narrow escalator leading into the ccl from the msp-bound platform is very derelict. furthermore, ppl sometimes dont care to queue and just wander around the already narrow platforms. but tbh this station isnt that bad as the aircon is adequately cold in a soothing way. 2. serangoon - the nel platform seems even newer than the awful ccl platform because of those horrible lights. 🤮 who thought it was a good idea to use slats and fluorescent lights? they have yellowed out by now and it makes the platform probably the worst maintained out of all the stations. one day the lights even blacked out. way to go smrt! dishonourable mentions kent ridge - there is just ONE bus serving the station. how convenient for aunties and uncles who may be a bit uncomfortable with the mrt and want to head for appointments at nuh. 🚌 one-north - same issue, just one bus serving the station … braddell - exits have upriding escalators but no downriding … 😭 1. yishun - ok its bc the msp-bound trains in the morning start to get crowded from here as probably no one is siao enough to take the train all the way from jurong east to woodlands in order to access the city, as they could change at jurong east to ewl or they could change at woodlands for tel. furthermore, if you enjoy the peace of the tranquil carriage environment, it stops here as ppl will start to talk loudly or in many instances, uncles would harass others bc they kepoh. also other reasons why i hate yishun - the landslide that revealed the urns 💀 at the turnback siding - ppl sometimes hock and spit near the area, not just middle-aged but like polytechnic/jc age as well 😣 why are ppl so gross

I hardly see people @ Clementi MRT station's Exits C & D though, & I guess its because they're further away from the bus stops. So the bus stops might have to be moved to these exits to ease congestion @ exits A & B. Meanwhile Serangoon MRT station is a bit confusing as B1 of the station is below B2 of NEX immediately above it. As for Kent Ridge there should've been some stairs to the platform from the southern end, & both escalators should be up-riding in the morning peak
