5:19 - are you always able to calculate the number of results in the sample space by just counting the results at the end of the tree? Or did this example just work out that way?

Assuming you made the tree correctly, it always works that way. It's the fundamental counting principle. Multiply the number of outcomes of each independent event.

Actually I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with probability. I did find it fascinating, but there were a few areas that were so confusing. I really, really wanted to get my head around it, because I am intrigued by what probability can be used for. I'm out of college at the moment and trying to go back and get into the 'whys' and 'hows' that I struggled with in college. Anyway, your channel was really helpful in the difficult days, so I'm back to give it another go. (I barely passed first year probability last year, and that was the second attempt because I failed the first).
