Statistics is a class i wish i didnt have in my accelerated program. Math has always been super easy for me, pre cal was a joke but statistics is wild. I'm having trouble figuring out which formulas to use, Once i know which one to use it's a breeze and even fun.

One chapter per week in stats is a lot, stats is not the only class we have and just as you said, it takes a lot of time to understand the material. She's not my lecturer but I had to vent a little, Stats is the bain of my existence right now.
@rawinrith59033 жыл бұрын
You're right it takes times but it's not the only subject, in my first semester of college i spent i would say 70% of my time studying calculus while 20% macro and 10% for other 2 subject. Even though i got a good grade my Cal, there's still stuff i couldn't understand so i just avoid it and i have a feeling that it's gonna be the same with statistics in the up coming semester
@jayak82173 жыл бұрын
@@rawinrith5903 it was a nightmare let me tell you, so glad it's over. I passed the exam by the skin of my teeth but the final mark was halfway decent because my semester mark was excellent. I think that since you just recently finished with calculus, stats shouldn't be too much of a problem. I was struggling so much because I hadn't done maths since highschool, and that was 7 years ago. I'm certain you'll grasp the concepts much much faster, just make sure you don't ever fall behind and you'll most likely have an easier time balancing stats with your other modules than you did with calculus.

I got 5 courses, 2 of them were Calculus and Macro-economics, I spent 70% of my time studying Cal while 20% studying Macroeconomics and 10% for the rest of the subject. Believe you gonna need alot of time to focus on Math subjects. Math can also dragged other subjects down as well

My best take is TIME, You are right, I started to read ´Statistics the Easy way´ book, and honestly, I did read 10 pages a day, and by the time I hit 40 I realized I HAD to comeback again to the beggining. Is realy hard to read it like a novel, just does not work that way.

I'm having a difficult time comprehending my Stats class. I've never been on a computer, all our homework is to be done on and submitted from a computer. So right from the start I'm behind. I recently missed another week and a half due to my father passing away. I'm working on flash cards for definitions, examples, and formulas. Just starting to understand some of it but I feel overwhelmed. I've never failed nor am I a quitter. Any suggestions? I dream of numbers, have a great professor. Taking 2 - 4 hours of tutoring now. I WILL DO THIS. JUST DON'T WANT TO SPEND EVERY WAKING MOMENT DOING THIS. Plus I'm going to college to become a Therapist and Substance Abuse Counselor. Stats is NOT required. Help

John McCulloch I’m so sorry about your father. That’s a lot. I had to drop my one accounting course because of my mom being sick. She passed in February. I had trouble with my stats too and accounting. I am a business major but math isn’t my cup of tea when it comes to stats and accounting...

Ok, I get the message Prof B.: stats get loads of time to be learnt (a shallow learning curve) because it's complex and very few ones will get it easily (very encouraging btw! ); we shouldn't be fooled by the "short number of pages as it takes a long time to get through stats..." Conclusion (main point here): be prepared for something beyond your capacity and for an outstanding Professor (B) who must be a very special person because she is teaching such outsanding / hard topics to undergrad students.... I would say: dont' be fooled by the prof. beautiful eyes and see stats as something completely accessible to everyone as long as you like it!

I had taken statistics and the professor graded based on exams only.. I dropped the course. I had a tutor who was giving me the wrong answers. He made me do it without the calculator. I had explained my situation to the professor. I told him I really wanted to pass. I was failing it. He wasn’t much help. I’m going to try and take your advice. I need it to graduate. Do you have videos on managerial accounting and principles of finance? I really suck at math.

“Stats takes a lot of time and repetition to learn” While I’m in an 8 week class struggling my butt off :[ Sometimes we can have up to 2 chapters a week and since we aren’t repeating section problems I’m having a hard time memorizing the materials. I have my midterm today so wish me luck

In stats right now. And Business Law. I have passing grades in both, actually top of my class. Stats is fun, but I don’t see anyone learning it without really studying the functions, and equations and the book like said.

The way statistics was explained to me when I studied commerce , was very different to my son who is in the sciences. One thing in common though, both exams where open book and very hard to “finish- time wise “ I think time mgt. on exam is important , … of course you have to know your stuff.

So I have been in school for my bachelors, all online. I have had such a great experience so far…..I would like to preface that I actually love math and in high school. I am currently in a statistics class the one and only math class I’m required to take for my bachelors. I only have 4 classes left and like I said I have had great teachers and an excellent experience online. I have got to say I am having one of the most absolute worst experiences in my online statistics class. In the first week I went from 20 class mates to now just the three of us heading into week 3…… My “teacher” gave us a syllabus and the reading. No lectures, no examples and no response to questions until way later. I had two questions from our math homework in the first two days that I could not figure out. He has just got back to me almost three weeks later and his explanation was not helpful. Luckily my grandmother is dating my math teacher from High school 😂 I called him up brought a pizza over to his house and he taught me everything I need to know so far for my statistics class. Wish me luck Monday is my first exam. It’s sad because I was so stressed out I work full time and take call at a hospital and I have three kids. I was so tempted to use one of those math sites you pay a subscription for and just cheat. So far I haven’t now that I have someone teaching me…..not my teacher lol but…..
