Thank you, this was very helpful. I have a question though, if n=5, does that mean that the possible success outcomes are also 5? or it cannot be determined because the success of outcomes could be 1, 2, 3, 4, OR 5.
@InfernalChaos7711 жыл бұрын
Can't be determined unless x is otherwise specified. n is equal to the number of trials and is independent to itself. Whereas x is equal to the amount of success and is dependent to the number of trials n.

p is the chance of getting a success of what you want for example, if you roll a dice 1 time, and you want to get the probability of getting a 3, your p would be 1/6

Okay, this was extremely helpful until you went to the table to get your answer. If I say 1-px=0.0and 0.1 and 0.2,and 0,4 and 0,5, and 0.6 then it should give me the answer but I get an error when I put it in my calculator I assume it is because they are asking for p> a fraction instead of a numerical number such as 1, 2. 3 exc, If there is someone in chat or KZbinr that'll be able to help me I would greatly appreciate it

What's the difference between P(x) & p?
@stormangelus66387 жыл бұрын
p = the chance of success. If it helps, you can usually spot it because it's either a decimal (like .2) or a percentage (20%). The other is what you're trying to solve for (Lottery scratch off tickets have a .2 rate of winning a free ticket. What's my chance to win a free ticket on lottery scratch off tickets if I buy 1 ticket a day for a week? N would be 7 (seven trials, one trial a day = seven days a week), p would be .2 (or 20%) and my P(x) is 1 (because I'm only buying 1 ticket a day). Does that make better sense?
@itsnotmeitsyou45826 жыл бұрын
What? So .157 is the answer? Omg! We have to do 1C8 (0.5)square8 + (0.5) to the 6 power and so on?
