Basically what this told me is that for me to get into schools that I want, or at least with my stats, I would need to cure coronavirus. Lol!

Your stats are amazing!! I got accepted into WashU too, but my stats are NOWHERE near as high as yours. However, I demonstrated interest, which is why I think I got in. Anyways, I'm so happy for you and wish you the best of luck this year

at first i was like "oh her scores must just be average" but then- 1570 sat, four 5s on ap tests, priavte stem boarding school, AND A MILLION EXTRACURRICULARS. i currently have NO extracurriculars, an average psat, only ONE ap class and i go to public school. i hate watching these videos smh.
@Nghi_nguyenn3 жыл бұрын
@@brooke7656 lol mine is similar to u. I'm a sophomore, haven't take any Ap yet, 2 clubs (no leadership position), scout, 5 volunteer hours only :/, public school, 3.9 gpa (but they are all regular classes), but i signed up for 2 APs next year. My school allows only 6 periods a day, so like how am i gonna compete with the ones that took like 8 aps, lots of honors...?
@brooke76563 жыл бұрын
@@Nghi_nguyenn i'm also a sophomore, and i'm also signing up for 2 APs next year. i have to take classes over the summer so that i can get all of the 'b's off of my transcript. idk if that's too much just to get rid of a 'b' but i watch videos like this and feel like i'm too average- i just want my gpa to at least be perfect. my school has 4 classes per semester which is 8 a year, but if i want to i can take a 5th class, and do 10 a year. maybe i should take 5 classes?? but i'm already stressed as it is... i joined the club of a teacher who i'm a favorite of (it seems like an important club, it's an environment one) and she pretty much promised me a leadership position once the seniors graduate which is good. but i wonder if i'm taking on more than i can handle (2 aps, lots of volunteering, SUMMER SCHOOL)... we'll see i guess :/
@Nghi_nguyenn3 жыл бұрын
@@brooke7656 4 classes per semester? I have 6 but we have that class throughout the year (unless it’s a semester class). I’m not really stressful now bc there is not that much work. But I’m scared of next year bc I’m taking 2 Aps, and I have to join some clubs for volunteer hours. I’m planning to take like 3 or 4 Aps senior year, but I will have to see how it goes next year.

I liked your rant and it's one of my criticisms of the admissions arms race of today. Some kids (and their parents) spend so much time and money attempting to checks as many boxes as humanly possible over a period of years that being a teenager / high school "kid" is lost. I also suspect that a good many of these kids don't give a rip about a large percentages of the activities -- it's just a means to an end. I like your subtle comments about having to cure cancer in your spare time to get the attention of admissions officers. That sounds about right. Pretty ridiculous....

Hi, so my question centers around which course load I should take. I want to take the hardest schedule, but I'm not sure which one is harder. My Highschool offers both IB and AP and I'm not sure if I should just do a lot of AP's (my Highschool offers about 17 APS). Should I just take a lot of AP classes or do the IB program? Would colleges not care either way as long as my course work is difficult. Thank you so much I enjoy your content so much and it is really helping my friends and I. I go to a gifted school, but the majority are low income students and information about these types of things isn't shared/ or they just don't know. I want to thank you for letting me share this valuable information with them. It has inspired people to do better and achieve things they wouldn't have. You really have motived and changed people's perspectives. I just wanted sincerely tell you that this is really helping people. Thank you!!!

Hi! I'm really glad you're trying to show colleges that you are taking the most difficult courseload available--I think this will really help you boost your college apps. Both IB and AP are very intensive and colleges will recognize that you are challenging yourself reguardless of which route you take. I have many friends at WashU who did AP and just as many who did IB, so I think either decision is a good one. Thank you very much for your support and good luck this college app season!!
