I love this! Both greek and roman statues and bronce era bodybuilders have been a big part of my inspiration for wanting to get bigger and start posing. The really cool thing about a show like the one you are suggesting is that it would not only be about size, but proportions, grace and aesthetics. I think it's a great idea!

I think it would be awesome to have bodybuilders submit a portfolio of statuesque posing for an online competition. You could even predetermine the statues ahead of time if you wanted and you can compare across different physiques and interpretations of the same pose

What a perfect video for today haha I had to go over on Friday and at some point we started talking about pictures and her being a fan of some of mine said that I should try some Greek statue poses so yesterday I thought about the setup and everything and then early this morning probably 2 hours ago, which is before this video uploaded, I actually started looking through pictures to select which ones I want to try based on which muscles I can control through just about any awkward position or natural position. I'm so glad I found your channel, it is a lot of fun, as is Forgotten Fitness, and a few other "smaller" channels that need more recognition for their work

The idea of the contest sounds brilliant. It sure would be taking a step towards the right direction both for the current/the potential community, and for the public consciousness. The component of posing in the aesthetic and statuesque way would really make it something new, exiting, miraculous and possibly great.

It's a cultural thing. In the bronze era the "physical culture" culture was about strength and aesthetics, but not so much it seems about just getting enormous by what ever drugs possible. Ooops, I mean, whatever means possible. The current dominant culture today for more than just body building is more is always better, so unless a new body building competition for things like posing emerges, I don't expect to see this sort of thing again. Que the angry gym bro who juices to become the meme and comment back, "do you even lift, bro?". I had one of those recently. Made me laugh. He also went on to vomit numbers for what he claimed to lift. It was funny.

really interesting, its like the poses show a more human, less extreme side of body building. No doubt it takes alot of work to get these physiques, but what i like is how casual and seemingly effortless these poses show the human body, a sort of 'beauty in the ordinary' kind of feel, the same way a sunny day and natural greenery are beautiful

I actually think the poses down by tge bodybuilders that you featured looks more natural to me. They looked healthy and fit. I also think you should pursue your goals. There are people who genuinely love the sport of bodybuilding. I think most people that are involved in bodybuilding started out with that. Also I like how artful the poses that you showed were done.

Those poses accentuate movement capability of a healthy human body. Todays bodybuilders in those poses would accentuate how unhealthy and unnatural they are vs modern poses that accentuate mass. Modern bodybuilders today moving naturally is when the look their worst, most bloated, off balance, clumsy, out of breath etc.

Just found this channel, on my 5th week of lifting and the drug use in the "health-focused" bodybuilding/lifting community is rampant, insane, and makes no sense given the context of health. Please keep making natural focused content, nattys are sadly the minority in the social media space but your and other's efforts don't go unnoticed or unappreaiced. Thank you Natty Life!

hey, idk how this got recommend to me, I'm just a girl I don't work out. I can do gymnastics but I 100% agree that straining until you look like you feel you're going to explode is a lot less aesthetic. maybe these ppl should reign themselves in, the modeling world gets this way sometimes too. doesn't a frame that's 110ibs @ 5'5" look a lot more aesthetic than 95ibs @ 5'08"? id love to see a competition between ppl who look like they would inspire the most iconic art in the world. freaks?? are off putting, _obviously._

Modern posing is obviously better for open class bodybuilders as it showcases their sheer size a lot better (not to mention they would look silly doing this style of posing), but I think us naturals and even some lower-doses pro bodybuilders (like men's physique or even classic) should experimenting a lot more with this kind of more "artistical" poses. They look great and as you said they even make slimmer physiques look graceful and aesthetic, funnily enough, the poses that recreate statues seem more "alive" than modern posing techniques.

Why do you do natural bodybuilding as opposed to enhanced? It's not because you can get bigger, stronger, or leaner as a natty, so what is it? If you can answer that question, you can design your competitions in a way which makes that motivation apparent. Then it will appeal more to the masses. If you figure it out, let the people in women's sports know, because they also have an issue with being in the shadow of a higher testosterone version of their sport. Personally I train because it's fun and good for character development. To use PEDs would defeat the purpose and would be missing the forest for the trees. Your life will be over in the blink of an eye, and you won't even have your youth for all of that time, so you should get more out of working out than big muscles. Having a competition where you try to emulate an ancient statue might have some appeal (I imagine a video of that philosopher lifter guy on KZbin posing with a caption "bro became a Greek god"), but I don't think that's really what you're training for. It'd be cool though.
