A fan from Finland also 👍 Found them in 1978 when Quo was in the radio with four tracks. "On The Lever" LP was in local library and it blew my mind! That LP is a masterpiece. So many good LP´s through their history! I have seen them about 50 times in six countries. Plenty of pictures taken from the gigs. So emotional memory when I saw the original line up (Frantic Four) in Hammersmith 2013 & 2014. And yes, they announced gigs to come in 2024. Rossi has been in the business since 1962. Fantastic band!

Im sure a lot of us have an abiding memory of Rick kicking off Caroline live. The cranking of the volume with that touch of feedback before he hit that first downstroke. You didnt only hear it you felt it that F barre chord cut like a lance!

Hi again from Uk - oh god snake bite and black! And Quo dance !memories…love this track , back in ‘79 or ‘80 as a teenager I was at Earl’s Court music /instrument show and you could play the instruments plugged in , so I was playing this track on the Fender stand on a telecaster and my base player picked up a fender precision and we were jamming this when I looked around to see Francis Rossi grinning from the corner of the stand .

A Tale of Two Cities. Status Quo came to my home town in the Deep South of the Low Countries sometime in the late 80s (population c. 18.000). I must have been ten/eleven years old. Well not exactly in my hometown but on a football pit just in between our hometown and the neighbouring garbage town (c. 20.000). For the first time since medieval times we had peace between the cities. 30.000 tickets sold. Two entire communities. And then they didn't show up because our towns were too small. The hatred in this part of the world is still alive and kickin'. Don't mention their name. Good music though and several girlfriends (and even friends !) came from that garbage town/dump. A few are still (despite their obvious errors because of their birth place) my mates. B*st*ards. SQ are the complete opposite of Motörhead. Motörhead never let us down. Still... good rock 'n roll nonetheless.

I managed to catch Quo at Leicester De Montfort on the End of the Road tour, before they split up, Rossi and Parfit waited 'til Alan Lancaster emigrated to Oz to settle down, then quietly reformed the band to record the most appaling sacharine nonsense I can't imagine him ever being associated with. Damn shame, but I'm glad I saw them when they still properly rocked. I saw them again a few years ago now at Cropredy festival and they could still put on a show, no doubt, but they left their best years back in 1984. Lancaster certainly gave them some much needed bollocks, as evidenced by this clip from the Milton Keynes finale to the tour. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKCVnoGia7uFqZY

@@TheThamesmen Well friends, though both Mud and Status Quo had hits with Dynamite and Down Down in 1974, I think they had different audiences and the Status Quo dance has since been everlasting, and Mud may have transformed to a small fleck in the history of pop music. Those first records of Mud were nice though ;-) Trust those producers of Suzi Quatro, Mud, Sweet and others to hit a vibe (though I hated the Bay City Rollers).
