Excellent concert. Enjoyed every single minute. All the old reliables were wheeled out with great aplomb and energy! This was heavy, raw edged blues rock played the way it should be! How they managed to play the same as they did 40 years ago is just stunning. Despite Alan Lancaster being obviously ill and fragile on stage, he delivered his bass and quite substantial vocals like the pro he is! Congrats lads on a great show.

Alzheimers I think poor guy, but your right, only this line up sounds like QUO for those of us old enough to remember them......

John Coghlan is NOT too slow. He is the only drummer providing what Rick, Allan AND Francis need to pull off the boogie we have all learned to appriciate and lost the day Pete Kircher started. Only with John, the value of the band added up to more than the sum of the individual members.

+Klaasjan Krook Spud the man on the cans, total master of the quo percussion sound. Nuff on bass and vocals. Perfick!
@breakaleg109 жыл бұрын
+Klaasjan Krook I got into Quo at the time Jeff Rich was in the band. I must agree he was a bit too fast. Matt Letley was a bit like Spud which makes those albums he was on really enjoyable. What John seems to lack nowadays is stamina, but so do Rick, Francis and Alan too.

Something I still find hard to believe to this day (but it's there on film to prove it) is the appalling disrespect Rossi treated Rick with from the day of his untimely death till today, Rossi and the rest of Quo lite were informed by Rick junior the morning after Rick died and Quo were due to go on stage that night in Spain (I think it was Barcelona but couldn't swear to it), you couldn't blame the band for cancelling the gig, in fact you'd expect it, just imagine you've just lost someone you'd been best friends with since you were a kid of fifteen years old, someone you've shared the highest of highs and lowest of lows with, someone who's been closer than your wives, so the fans awaited the inevitable cancellation but it never came, the website proclaimed "GIG STILL ON" and the venues billboards gave the same message. my first thoughts when I heard the gig was still on was maybe it's Francis's way of dealing with the grief, I'm sure he's gonna dedicate the gig to Rick and intersperse songs with stories about Rick, bloody hell I couldn't have been more wrong if I'd tried, THE BASTARD LITERALLY DID NOT MENTION RICK, not once in the whole show or encore was Ricks name mentioned, in my opinion these are the actions of a sociopath/psycopath whichever lable is applicable, as I've never heard of a normal person ignoring the death of someone who's been closer to them than their family for over fifty years, as I started of by saying I still to this day find the ice coldness of Rossi not acknowledging Ricks death or doing anything to celebrate his wonderful life absolutely sickening and I know Ricks family are grateful for the love they've been shown by the fans and especially John Coghlan and Alan Lancaster, I've no doubt that Rick's looking down on us in between jamming with the likes of Chuck Berry, Hendrix, Bowie, Cash, Lennon, Harrison and the rest, but seriously Rick junior has said he's learned much about Rossi after his dads death and none of it could be described as favourable, Rick was instrumental in the comeback of the Frantic Four, it wouldn't have happened without him and IMO thats a fitting memorial as for a while they rejuvenated a whole generation and took us back to our teens and twenties and now when I play the "Frantic Four Reunion" cds I feel grateful to Rick. R.I.P. Rick

To me there will only ever be one Quo ,the Frantic Four, but once Coghlan and Lancaster were edged out and Rossis' dictatorship went unchallenged, and just as Alan Lancaster predicted at the time, Margarita Time was the thin end of a manky ,vomit inducing wedge of "variety show" or lift musik, from a hard rocking energetic boogie band with an army of followers that my mates and I were proud to be foot soldiers in, it's sad to say it was embarrassing to confess you were a Quo fan (even with the proviso) "but the original Quo", not only did the music become nauseating, so too did the depths the "band" were prepared to plunge to, it was bad enough doing covers en masse ,but these covers were no "Johnny B Goode" just bilge, and for a band whose remaining 2 originals were Londoners born and bred to record an FA Cup record for Man U , was an all time low. I like many others still played the music of the FF (forever renewing from vinyl to cassette tapes then CDs) , but to me Quo Lite were and are persona non grata. so when news of the FF doing a reunion tour ,many middle aged from the UK to Australia wept tears of joy, and in no way were we let down by the lads ,quite the contrary, they transported a generation back to their glory days as teens or twenty somethings and then repeated the the rejuvenation a second time, for that i'll be eternally grateful - Thanks Lads! it's sad that Rossi ,rather than embrace the Lazurus like rise, chooses to return to the Sunday afternoon at the legion variety act aka Quo Lite. lastly Rick deserves the gratitude of the FF fans for attempting to keep the dream going.

They don't look like a group really. The Beatles did and so did The Ramones but there's only a trio here on drums, bass and rhythm guitar. It's still good.
