It's just not very good. It's like music-lite. All the ingredients are there, the guys can obv play, it's in tune, the words are correct and in order. And yet ... there's nothing there. This is not far off being classed as muzak - if it played in a lift, I'd not be surprised, but still get off the next floor

Great cover from the Quo. Alan was a very talented and creative bass player, and also a great singer.

Apparently the bass line on this song is difficult to play. Ray Manzarek of The Doors played it on keyboard and it is tricky to play on the string bass. And Alan Lancaster sings! Thank you for all the great music sir, Alan Lancaster RIP.

Bob Young on harmonica. ‘Bob Young is Status Quo's unofficial fifth member, their roadie, tour manager and harmonica player as well as co-writer on many of the band's biggest hits with Francis Rossi. Bob is steeped in Quo history, having been a key cog in the mechanics of the group from 1968 until 1981.’ PRS For Music
@markmiwurdz22485 ай бұрын
@BennyTheBusker. You may already know this. See if you can find Bob Young’s album “In Quo Country” released in 1986. As the title suggests Bob and some excellent session players cover some Status Quo songs. Outstanding tracks that I remember are “Mean Girl” with some blistering guitar from Albert Lee and a real “countrified” cover of “Dirty Water”. Stay safe and well.

Great camera work featuring everyone in the band, including Bob Young on blues harp. He was Quo’s roadie and tour manager in the 70s. What a metronomic driving force they all were, smashing this Doors’ classic song. John Coghlan’s no frills drumming is relentless and pinpoint accurate.
