Saw this one the other day. Like you, I was super impressed with the crown handling. More important to me than the depth rating. I would be happy to have the watch just for swimming. Very robust and well made case. Very impressed. I really like that they put the date where they did, so it does not interfere with any other dial element. Great review. Thanks, Carl

Thanks Carl. I cant agree with you more. This is a great timepiece for just about any occasion. The depth rating doesn't really matter to me either. How many people go that deep anyway. A friend of mine gave his friend a professional diver, a 200m dive watch for a gift and he did even know how to operate it. He uses a 100m Casio G-shock. And tests equipment for the seals. That tells me alot!!👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻

I have this watch and the dimensions and finishing are beautiful. The bracelet is quality made also. It’s water proof to 330 feet, not a problem for me since I dont go scuba diving. A steal at $475.

I have this one with the SS bracelet. When I bought it I originally looked at the rubber strap option instead, but something about the "KHAKI" along the strap was off putting to me. I am looking to get a rubber strap at some point. I have a 7.5inch wrist and this 40mm case wears just big enough to not look small. This watch, for me, is a everyday type watch but I doubt I'll ever purposely take it to the water (like the beach).

It’s abundantly clear that most people who own dive watches do not dive...the industry standard for recreational dives does not usually exceed 130 feet, basic certification happens at 30-60 feet and people are complaining about a depth of 330 feet?! This watch will satisfy everyone except for professional salvage divers, Navy SEALs and James Cameron...believe me, 330 feet is enough for 99.99% of the population, the rest is overkill.
@stauffer653 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. 330ft is enough. People complain even if is to much like 5000ft. An iso certified dive is enough for almost anyone. Thanks for watching and commenting!!👍🏻👊🏻⌚

@@stauffer65 Not really. The WR ratings are done statically. When you swim or move your arm in the water it creates higher pressures. So 100m is just adequate for swimming. You really need 200m to dive to 60 feet if there is current or you arm is moving through the water magnifying the pressures. This watch is a "desk diver", but it is still nice looking. Real dive watches will be ISO certified. The Seiko SKX and Citizen NY-0040 are examples of ISO certified affordable watches. The equivalent Swatch diver that is ISO certrified is the Certina Action DS with the same Powermatic 80 movement. Although the Tissot Seastar and Mido Oceanstar are also 300m, they are not ISO certified.

How do you remove the band I don’t see drilled holes. I ordered the bracelet one
@stauffer655 жыл бұрын
You need a spring bar tool. One with a small v shape on the end and a pusher on the other end. The pusher goes in the drilled lug end for easy removal. The v side goes between the strap and lug on the back side of the watch lug. Then you pry the spring bar down and it will pop out. Sometimes it takes a little practice, but once you get it, it's a breeze. Hope that helps!👍🏻👊🏻

Nice review. I have a real problem with companies calling watch scuba watches when they are not 200M water resistant. If someone took that watch dicing to 100 feet and it flooded, they would cover it under warranty. It looks great, but I could never buy one with the name not matching it’s capabilities.

I like the watch, great looking. However, at 100m, it's like the new Seiko 5's. I really want the minimum for a dive watch to be 200m. We've all become used to 200m as being the standard and many micros now are 500m, 1000m, or even 2000m.

Great review. Over 3 day power reserve is great for a classic styled diver watch. 100 meters is more than most people realistically need. The only thing I can think of to improve it would be a lumed bezel. Thanks.
@stauffer655 жыл бұрын
Sean I cant agree more on every point you made. Most people do not dive at all. But with today's dive watches going a 1000ft easy, it almost seems inadequate. Its totally fine for me brother. I to wish the bezel had lume. That would be the icing on the cake. It's a keeper for me!!👍👊

@@stauffer65 But 100m does't actually mean you can drop it into 100m of water. This watch is only rated for swimming and use in the bath. Any sort of diving and you'll break it.

You have an okay video in reviewing the watch, but you stubbed your toe trying to talk about how this watch would be no good for diving. This watch is rated for 100 meters, that's 10 atmospheres or 4,067.94 psi in the water column. The limits of recreational diving is ~40 meters (4 atmospheres or 130'. That's 1,627.17 psi in the water column. 99% of divers are only recreationally certified. Beyond 40 meters takes specialty training and deeper pockets. All that said, the reason I would not buy this watch for anything more than a "desk diver" is the lack of illumination at the 12 o'clock on bezel. Best regards, ~B
@stauffer655 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill. You got it. The industry standard depth limit for recreational divers is 130 feet at sea level. During the basic scuba certification, students experience depths of 30-60 feet, and a “deep” dive is considered more than 60 feet. So it is perfectly fine for scuba. It is not ISO 6425 certified. That's petty much what I was getting at. I should have explained my self better. It seems like most watches are rated so much deeper like Seiko and I take that for granted. Heck even the Rolex Submariner isnt ISO certified. Go figure. So it is technically qualified. I'm sorry for that brother and thank you for calling me out on that. I also agree the lume just isnt there enough for me either. Thanks again and I hope you are enjoying the channel. Take care!👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻⌚

How can you call a watch a “scuba” and be only a 100 meters! Absolutely ridiculous and a deal breaker. In today’s world where everybody and their brother can put out a 200 meter watch, it simply doesn’t make any sense. If I was wearing this watch and someone asked me the name of it I would just say it’s a Hamilton. If I would tell them it’s Hamilton Scuba and they asked how waterproof it is they would probably laugh at me.

Agreed brother. It does almost seem inadequate in today's diver world. But then again how many people really dive 200m let alone more than 100ft. It's all kind of crazy.
