Hilarious! This is one of my BEST preforming watches in my experience. The bezel clicks as all bezels should which is firmly and only 60 clicks. The lume is some of the best. The long lasting, smooth and accurate movement is +1 per day. The comfort and fit, although being a large watch, is as if custom built for my 7 1/4" wrist. The bracelet is also one of the most comfortable and well made. The end links are part of the perfect fit although a large cased watch. I find it to be a huge improvement over the older version and totally underpriced. One of Hamiltons best endeavors.

Excellent review. Nice to see some improvements on this Hamilton dive watch. My one complaint is the size. The lug to lug is ridiculous. I would look at the mido ocean star as an alternative.

Nice to see they fix the blaring deficiency… 100 m water resistance is great for the field watchers, but was a showstopper IMO For a watch calling itself the frogman… Thanks for the great review!

I want a Hamilton for my dive watch collection, if for anything the retro name. The clicks on the bezel is a bit disappointing, I don't mind the 60 click bezel but I agree the clicks sounds off. I get it that it is not going to compete with an Omega, Breitling. Rolex, Tudor or even Oris at it's price point it should sound more quality. I will also add that with a 300m "dive watch" it should have a wet suit extension (yes 99.999%) of people will never dive with the watch however, at just under $1000 it should have it. It is a great looking watch I am going to add it like the white and blue color combo.

i have it and i love this timepiece. i would suggest you take a look at it at a dealer and check for yourself if the bezel action is ok or not. this watch feels so sturdy and well made when you handle it, it`s a joy.

@@snargk I think I will check it out. The white or the all blue are beautiful pieces. I'm a "dive watch" guy, and I have always wanted to add a Hamilton to collection but they seemed in the past to focus more on field watches (just not for me) and their dress watches (which do look amazing). I think I am going to definitely consider one, beautiful piece and looks like an exceptional buy.

@@snargk Picked one up. The bezel "click" is fine and you are correct it feels very robust which some people don't like heavier watches, I do. Video's do not do this watch justice, the white face with the blue touches and the ceramic bezel is absolutely beautiful. I think Hamilton nailed it, I can't think of a sub $1000 diver that looks as nice and with the robust quality feel. In fact, I have seen some watches costing another $300 to $400 more, that I think are not as nice. Good job Hamilton :)

@@sardonic_smile_8752 Some people find a 60 click bezel to be less than a 120 click. I could care less on how many the watch has. For $1000 it should sound and feel quality. Meaning positive clicks (no skips). I have had some Seiko's like the Monster complete solid click and zero play. I have also had a Padi diver where there is a ton of play and if I was going to describe it, Id say cheap and sloppy. Since my above post I have added the Hamilton. The bezel is tight with a very positive quality feel. It truly is a beautiful watch, for its price point I think it is amazing buy. The cream dial with blue goes with anything, Hamilton did an amazing job on the watch and band, small areas that are polished against brushed steel. Really nice watch.

@@robertovidal5469 The Longines hydroconquest is an excellent watch but shiny, the coloured dials look cheap and the hands are bith basic too, I love Tissot but the Seastar is a Spud, they're both chasing that Tag desk diver money and look, I hate it (them) at least the Hamilton doesn't bling it, looks like a grown ups watch. If you want a shiny Tissot get the PRX like I did and a King Turtle for less than than any of those single watches......a bit of a rant but its a shame that the entry level diver for both brands doesn't have a more tool like iteration instead of Tissots mini Brietling looka likee and Longines Rolexisms

I have the black dial 40mm, 100meter version and its ok. I do not regret it at all. I did have an issue with it recently. I wore it to work, took it off and put it in my jacket (didnt wear it during my shift). At the end of my shift I put it on and noticed it had stopped about 8 hours prior. Checking it I also noticed the date had advanced 8 days. 🤔 I reset every, and its been fine, but I am not sure what happened. And yes, the crown was screwed down properly. 🤔

I'm guessing it died in the pocket not getting the proper movement on the wrist and it was on a low power reserve to begin with. And the date you probably forgot that it was set incorrectly. There is no way it can jump 8 days with crown screwed down, because that would mean the movement went forward 192hours in 8 hours? the speed would be insane.

I'm sorry, but this is pretty much everything that I hate about Hamilton... boring and unoriginal! - The case is completely uninspired (exactly as described... cookie-cutter) - The bracelet is unremarkable, needs more taper, and lacks adequate micro-adjust - Oversized/massive lug-to-lug - Cluttered dial (those 24hr numerals aren't doing ANY favours... why are they needed on a dive watch!?) I will give some credit to the one and only Hamilton model that seems to have decent lume! Can Hamilton do just one thing that's original and interesting, please!??

I was never really a fan of this one or even the new version. I would go with either the Certina DS Super PH 500 or the Squale 1521 full lumed dial. I actually prefer aluminum bezels over ceramic I like the character they develop. I definitely don't hate ceramic but definitely don't have the ceramic fever like some do 😉I will say if we see more matte ceramic bezels that would be nice 👍 not really a fan of the shiny ceramic bezels.

Hamilton Navy is one of the dive watch I personally never recommend to anyone. Its nice looking watch but ridiculously big for the 300m version and the smaller version with 100m. Apart from having good movement, there is basically nothing good about the watch to call it a value for money dive watch. For the same price, if you want a Swiss dive watch I would look into Mido Oceanstar or Certina DS, maybe Tissor Seastar 1000. Or just get a Seiko Prospex for a lesser price.

I’d rather my Seiko spb097j1, better…fit, finish, size (43mm with 50mm lug to lug), easy grip coin edge bezel, sun burst dial, anti reflective coated sapphire, hardened scratch resistant stainless steel bracelet and case, 4 micro adjustments, divers extension, drilled lugs, way better lume and they are available on sale. It’s running at about +3 sec per day so I think that and the power reserve is the only things the Hamilton is doing better ( buy about 1 sec).Still nice watch but not in the same diver league imo.

The ceramic version I agree but the dial hour markers are too small for the dial. I had the blue dial ocean star 200c and couldn't get past the dial was high compared to the tiny hour markers..
