So we finally made it to Stavanger after our cancelled port last year, and we're really glad we made it here. We were shocked to find our local toffees for sale in a sweet shop and i think it was worth a few marshmallows to see the look on Stacey's face when the birds went near her 😂

Hi Stacey and Kev. Yes! My Sunday is complete now 🙂 Stavanger looks like a really cool port. I love walking around and finding little side streets and local history. I couldn't even imagine taking my house apart and taking it with me when I move. 😮. I love finding little local markets. Don't scare me!!! Not getting anything to eat 😂. I definitely would have stopped and gotten something off the fishing boat. Lot's of history there. Oh Kev, trying to bait Stacey with some treats for the bird's. 😊. Hope you are both well. As always thank you for all you do and taking us along ❤❤

Thanks so much MaryAnn and haha we just didn't feel like trying any food 🤣. Just had a sweet tooth 😋 could imagine the fish off the stall was delicious though

Thanks for your videos, started watching at 8am yesterday and finished at 10pm !! Was originally just getting ideas for Euribia cruise to Northern Europe, now apparently my wife wants to do Alaska 😂. Well done you two, great videos, down to earth, informative and fun.

Wow thanks so much for taking the time to watch them. We really appreciate it. We're on the Euribia soon so will have videos coming out of that. We really recommend an Alaska cruise 😁

Nice review of the quaint town of Stavenger. The wife and I were there in 2018 (on a much nicer day than you two had) and had one of the greatest adventures of our lives. About 50 people left our RC ship (all on our own without an excursion), walked about 4 blocks down the wharf to a ferry, took that across the Bay, got on a bus for a 15 minute ride to a National Park. (I believe its called Preikestolen) There we walked up a mountain (2 hours?) to Pulpit Rock. An amazing plateau looking over one of the fjords. Stayed about 40 minutes and headed back to the ship. You need to be in good shape to do this, but we HIGHLY recommend it to anyone going to Stavenger.

Good to see you finally made it to stavangar, looks a cute little place. Good to see Stacy survived the killer seagulls… no help with Kev and his flumps though

Haha yes they were massive 🤣 didn't appreciate the flump throwing either lol. Thanks for watching

we were there in May and would thoroughly recommend the boat trip up the Fjord to Pulpit Rock. Absolutely stunning trip, without doubt best boat trip we've ever done. Obviously don't book it via the cruise line, just book it at the port side right next to the ship

Thanks, we'll take a look at this if we go to Stavanger again 👍

Great vlog both. Loved Stavanger when we was there in June. If you ever go back definitely do the 3 Swords they were amazing to see. Definitely do not need to do an excursion the bus was really easy to get.
@OneCouplesAdventure Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, and yes we would like to see the swords next time

Many thanks for the update guys, we went there last December when we were returning on Aurora, lots of snow and ice then and I felt like my good lady was literally dragging me around as I was a bit under the weather. We did a coach tour to a museum and then the swords which was great. The downside of being there was I didn't really take much in as once onboard I blinking tested positive for you know what and spent the last two days of our cruise in the balcony cabin. 👍
@OneCouplesAdventure Жыл бұрын
Oh no what a shame you weren't feeling well. We didn't a few of the other ports we went to. You just don't take it in the same do you when you're not well. Hope you make it back to Stavanger again one day then 😁

The only thing I would have liked to of seen would of been the street with the cafes and souvenir shops. I always like to see what kind of souvenirs there are in a new country. Also I couldn’t have passed up that bakery. My mom and I are always looking for great bakeries (fancy pastries not just bread). Very much enjoyed everything you did show.

We did Stavanger on the Queen Mary 2 in 2019 and it was a really nice port - i loved how in the old town your surrounded by all the quaint buildings yet this mahussive cruise ship (Ocean Liner with QM2) is just towering over them - I also found the Starbucks to be hiding from me when i tried too track it down!!!
@OneCouplesAdventure Жыл бұрын
Glad you had a nice time too and yes the Starbucks took us a while to find lol

Pleasant enough town Stavanger worth a visit , shame about the weather it was like that when I visited , you are spot on about the old town if you arrive by ship rather than walk into town centre along the river front a quick stroll across the road and up the steps brings you into the old town with some beautiful period houses, former fisher mans cottages a very pleasant walk you can then return along the river front to your ship the town can be walked comfortably in 2-3 hours think if I was going again having seen it once would venture a little further afield
@OneCouplesAdventure Жыл бұрын
Yes definitely agree, it was lovely but if we went back we would go further afield

I was wondering what would be your personal preference on spending while at shore, do you just use your bank card as needed or do you take with you euros for example? We are going on our first cruise and are a bit unsure which is better.
@OneCouplesAdventure9 ай бұрын
For places like Norway/Iceland where we wouldn't need their currency for other places we just use card. If its euros we usually get some euros in cash and know if we don't use it all we will more than likely be going somewhere else that excepts euros.

Really enjoyed watching you guys have a day here - I visited here on MSC Virtuosa last year, and found it to be the least impressive port. That said, we visited on a Sunday when almost everything was closed - d'oh!

It's always rubbish when you're scheduled for a port day on a Sunday. We had the same in Hamburg and all the shops were closed 🤣. Hope you're having a great time

Great Vlog both. We visited stavanger last year its a beautiful city , better weather than you luckily and had a nice walk around lake and city. Have you seen the news articles about the locals protesting about the cruise ships blocking there views from the houses by the terminal and the pollution caused ?
@OneCouplesAdventure Жыл бұрын
Thanks Barry. And no we haven't seen that about the protesters. What a shame though. The houses were beautiful and yes the ships being there would block their view as they were quite close. The thing we commented to ourselves about was the fact NCL had put a big speaker playing music there as we got off the ship. We even said to each other what have they done that for when it's so close to these houses!
@BarryFinch-nx7ku Жыл бұрын
If you Google " Stavanger cruise ship protests " there is articles from the Daily Express and independent regarding the residents complaints.

Hello Kev & Stacey We were in Norway in August this year and had a lot of rain certainly not picnic weather even in August You must of had a very big breakfast on the ship not to try the local cafes, you did say you were not hungry ? As you well know its not cheap to eat, on the one occasion, we did have a prawn sandwich and chips £22.00 each and a pint & half of craft ale £23.00 after that we had a very large breakfast before getting off the ship. We knew the price before eating and having a drink so we can not complain. Stacey , Kev didn't show if it was the food or the seagull that you kick away in the vlog ? we believe you. great vlog
@OneCouplesAdventure Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and haha it was a sweet that was kicked not a seagull 🤣. And yes we had some amazing food on the ship and had no room for anymore 😋

@OneCouplesAdventure Жыл бұрын
We need to have some Filipino food again. There was some on a cruise ship buffet that we had which was nice. We'll be looking at doing some other travel things in the next few years and we would really love to visit the Philippines at some point

Another fab vlog. We were in Stavanger in August on our Queen Mary 2 cruise. We went to the canning and printing museum and the petroleum museum, both were really interesting. There was a reduction in the entry fee if you did both museums. We loved the old town.

Went there in may on britannia for the kings coronation, some nice wall art here and there, one of a womans face made of different things right near the ship. Not fjordy but a nice place 👌🏼
