Skating is my go to to explain this idea: Don’t try to get the finish line when you’re just starting. If you sincerely enjoy the act of doing something than progress is inevitable. It becomes play not work. I never had a concrete bowl to drop in on where I grew up. That is legitimately one of the best feelings you can feel. You’re always trying to expand your comfort zone. Doing something that scares you until it becomes trivial is one way to do this. Skateboarding is cheap and challenging. I use to love doing it and still would if I could.

I play a little Bouzouki. It’s basically a mandolin (4 sets of 2 strings) with another octave (longer neck). It’s from Japan but traditional Greek and Irish cultures adopted it for their folk music. Super cool full sounding instrument

The caller is describing the e girl look. Which is a fairly small subsection of pop culture. I'm guessing the caller is part of that subculture and doesn't get out much. She's referencing the whole Japanese anime look. Japanese fashion is in style right now. For both men and women. Japanese people aren't very curvy in general, usually petite with flat features.
