As a bed sharing mom (6 kids), I've rarely been able to get up before the youngest for the same reason. It's so hard to sneak away, they almost always know instantly when I get out of bed. 😆 So I get up when the youngest wakes up too.

Thanks for the inspiration and no fuss instructions on how to do it. Blessings to you Lisa.

I grew up on a small farm with a dairy - we had two breakfasts. The first one was called "dippy-dunky" and we would have a glass of fresh milk with a granola bar dipped in it. Then after chores (about 9:30) we would have a big oatmeal breakfast before starting our homeschooling. It's the way to go so you don't get tuckered out before chores are done!

I also co sleep. It's just such a natural way to care for baby! I dont tell anyone because everyone seems to have a negative opinion about it. (i.e. anyone older or in the medical field) Actually, co sleeping is NOT more dangerous if the mother is not obese, a firm mattresses, and not drinking alcohol or other drugs/medications. It's hard to have those conversations, because people just say what the statistics say, but people dont like to look at people as individuals, I've found. If you take out those high risk situations in statistical analysis, co sleeping is actually just as safe. Good for you for sharing.. you'll probably get some hate!
@susanfreeman63502 жыл бұрын
Hi Melanie. I had to smile at your comment. I’m older (72), and also a medical professional. I co-slept with both my children until they just naturally migrated out of our bed. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
@onepartwild2 жыл бұрын
I co-slept with each of my 7 children. I'm in my late 50's now and would do it all the same way again. As a light sleeper I felt there was no danger for me in doing so. My husband, however, was another matter. One night while he slept he placed his upper arm across the baby's face and could have smothered her had I not been such a light sleeper and vigilant. I don't believe most husbands are as aware of an infant in the bed during the night as their wives.
@meh50692 жыл бұрын
I also co slept with both of my kids, and we were all the better for it. I tried with a crib and it just did work for us.
@moosebeardbeginningshomest23422 жыл бұрын
I'm considered obese in medical terms and Ive coslept with all 4 of my babies, some longer than others. I feel personally it worked for me because I'm a light sleeper. Being a light sleeper is so important when a baby is in the bed because they just roll so much haha. Congrats to all those mom who cosleep. I told my kids doc I do and they didn't say a word so maybe the world is coming around to something other nations have done for generations.
@renewingnourishment42182 жыл бұрын
How do you all co-sleep "safely" though? My husband and I don't have any babies yet but maybe in the next year or two and I'd like to co-sleep but idk about the blankets, or if there's a specific way to do it, I've heard you can use a little baby nest/pillow like snuggle me organic for them to stay secure in? I've tried researching but most resources aren't helpful lol.

Wow, thank you for sharing your summer morning routine! I love your unapologetic authenticity and I’m encouraged by the fact that so many other momma’s here co-sleep and get up with their littles. I thought I just hadn’t cracked the code on getting up early while co-sleeping🤷🏻♀️ maybe in the next season of my life I’ll be able to get up early and have some alone time-for now I suppose I’ll enjoy those early AM snuggles with my baby guilt free😉❤️

This makes me miss co-sleeping... I loved it with both of my boys (they are both teenagers now so this is really bringing back memories..). I'd say over 18 years ago it was pretty unconventional to be the co-sleeping mama who breastfed her kids till age 3 but I did it!! I also worked full time so this took some planning, dedication and sacrifice. I wouldn't change a thing and I have so many memories... Thank you for pointing out that you can be different and still 'get things done'. I think you make everyone who follows you appreciate their own unique skills.

You are amazing! I am envious of how flexible you are to whatever is currently happening. I hope that many young moms are encouraged by your example. I would have loved to had access to a channel like this when my kids were little. I used to think that if you live on a farm, you have to be up for the animals at dawn or before. It's so hard to even go to the bathroom during the night without one child knowing and asking where I'm I going, or if it's time to get up. I have always had to fake being asleep to get more rest. I've always had to wake very early for school and work, but not a morning person. Why these little people feel the need to wake very early? I'm always looking forward to nap time and their bedtime especially now that I'm mostly home. I'm really enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing.
