Lil wayne is a much more influential artist, he actually writes bars for his songs and has spawned a decent discography over the years. Soulja boy made like 8 songs in 2010/2012 and popularized a style of hip hop that was surely different but went away really fast after people like future and thug came in. If we want to talk about the way he popularized himself sure, I think he has been really dedicated about his stunts like the limewire and eMule spam and all that shit that got him to mtv, but still, not that influential as he wants you to think. Even his contribution to the culture is kind of a stunt, he is just living off the clout of getting there early. For example, Lil b got really popular for a moment, probably slightly after soulja did, but he stayed silent after the numbers went down and still recorded some of the best tracks of his lifetime while no one was around. And if you ask a lot of early sc rappers era they will 100% tell you that lil b has been much more influencial than soulja.
