Online slot machines are the hottest thing on various livestreaming services. While I don't care if the activity is shown to like minded adults, I have several problems with the streamers and the sites they promote to their fanbase. Thanks for watching!

Gambling doesn’t just affect the gambler. My ex’s dad was a gambling addict and it broke up his marriage, destroyed the family, ruined his relationship with his brother and mother, and fucked up my ex’s life. My ex’s dad stole tens of thousands of dollars from her and ruined her financially. I think it negatively impacted our relationship, too, because of the emotional baggage it left her with. Gambling addiction, like any addiction, is horrible.

I work for a major physical casino company. We spend millions on responsible gaming and even I as a corporate IT guy that works from home and never sees customers has to do a responsible gaming training refresher annually. With that said, online gaming is going to ruin people's lives IMO. When they can literally get out of bed and go no where, and see no one, and start gambling there is going to be no one but themselves to tell them they have a problem. Most people already know they have a problem and won't acknowledge it until someone else says something be it a friend or a casino employee. I worry about how making this so easy and accessible will effect people. To make matters worse so many of these companies are in small countries with almost zero regulation on how casinos are to be run and setting things like payout percentages and holding casinos accountable for mistakes or errors in technology they make. This means an online casino can move its payout rate from the average 40 something percent to 20 or even less. Hell they could flat out start cheating completely via software.

@@csis473 it's reported to special employees that have even more training on this and they can engage the person. If the person specifically asks for help we have information to give them, it will be reported, and we can offer to put them on the exclusion list where they will not be allowed to gamble in our casinos. This is one reason I like my company. They outwardly say they only want people to gamble for fun and invest both volunteer time and money in all the communities we operate in.

Canadian here. At one point both my sisters worked in casinos in Alberta. They told me lots of sad stories of people with gambling problems. People who would stay in the casino for 2 days. Come to the casino at 6am etc. They also had the responsible gaming section and I guess in some cases they would reach out to people. Pretty sad industry. Myself personally I've only been to a casino gambling a few times. My one sister was a poker dealer and got pretty into playing it on her days off / after work (not at her own casino pretty sure employees can't play there)

Its been my experience that gambling is one of those things people seem to be into or have no interest in it at all. Vices are definitely a massive part of our nature as a species. Its always struck me as odd that most people don't want to look at the reality of how dark and predatory our nature has always been like it will just go away if we don't acknowledge it. The closer you look the less strange but more disturbing life becomes. But whos got time for that when the next $1600 cell phone is out and we gotta have it. lol. A rather morbid pursuit imo.

It’s straight up like a drug to some people. If you’re going to gamble, please be careful. Bring a friend or come up with a method where you literally can’t take out more money then whatever you set your standard to. Or even better, don’t gamble in the first place. Both are still very wrong because it's sponsored and leads to gambling behaviour thats really not in line with anyone long enough in the game really. I only ever gambled when I was studying, but I wouldn't call it gambling. We often went to a snooker center after school it had a machine that I think was borked somehow, we noticed all you had to do was wait for some sap to waste 50-100 bucks on it and it had a tendency to pay out, so when they left after losing we went in and spent a few bucks to get 50, consistently.. Paid for a lot of lunches at school and all our snooker games and drinks :') but this obviously was an exception, that machine probably had a problem making it consistently generous after someone lost 50-100.

I always loved gambling in virtual casinos with fake money I spent a lot of time on them back in the PS2 days. I still love playing online poker with people with fake credits but I've still never spent a cent on real life casinos or even more fake currency in these mobile games. I honestly wish more casino simulation games would come out I loved the whole vibe of exploring the floor going from table to table unlocking little prizes from tournaments and leveling up. I guess GTAV is the closest? But that has to be the worst casino experience I've played in a game.

Online gambling is very dangerous as it just becomes numbers on a screen. You eventually forget the value of money when you're not physically holding it in your hand. You may lose money while gambling but (I know this sounds wierd to most people) the feeling of winning £50 is amazing, even if you've lost £80 for that win. I got addicted about 5 years ago. I ended up losing 10k to online slots in less than a year. In the end I had to permanently ban myself from every gambling site in the UK.

I remember when they took the casino mini-games out of pokemon due to the age rating getting changed from E to T in a lot of countries. In fact, because they left the casino mini-game in the virtual console version of RBY the game was given a T rating from the ESRB. They didn't want to remove it from the original games as they didn't want to edit them for the sake of nostalgia but because of that, we will never have a game center in a pokemon game ever again.

@@maximusdecimusmeridius728 Addiction is hereditary/genetic as much as it is environmental. The risk becomes especially pronounced in regards to substance abuse, but is also found in other forms of addiction too. I absolutely have a predisposition toward both gambling and shopping addiction and have to struggle to keep my impulse control issues in check. It becomes especially problematic when my depression is bad, I self medicate by spending money and taking risks with my money.

A few years back I spent a long time studying and programming a script to win at a csgo skin gambling site. They had a flawed game where it was actually possible to beat out the house on average with a strategically set up script (it was just a simple python script that used some basic math). I had 100s of dollars in my account and as they kept adding more restrictions to stop me and possibly others from winning (minimum withdrawals, minimum games played, account level restrictions), I would always find a way around them to keep coming out on top. Eventually, when I had the most in my account I've had at one time, they just removed 80% of my balance. They retroactively evaluated the skins I had deposited at an insanely low value when I tried to make my withdrawal and essentially just said I'm not allowed to win. Luckily I had made enough from before this happened to at least break even but I'll never trust any site like this. Taking advantage to make money is only okay when they do it I guess.
