Watching some of your videos again Marcus, they are truly brilliant! I hope your health problem is now being fixed and that we will see you again soon in new videos. I am due to come to Sweden in June to visit friends in Gavle, if you were available and not too far away, I would love to come and have a face to face lesson with you. Thank you again for all the great videos that you have posted.👍

Enjoyed the different driver views--and the image of palm hitting up on a ball works for me. Palm down for irons is a good image, too. I sometimes lift up rather than that. Again, enjoy your approach to teaching--straight forward and understandable. Always watch your stuff over and over. Thanks!

I just started playing 2 years ago at age 45, and I've spent thousands of dollars on fancy PGA professional golf lessons as well as tried to follow multiple popular online instructors. All of it made things worse for me. You have the best channel and instruction, by far. I am now bombing my driver and woods most of the time after studying many of your videos. I still struggle with irons though, something about that swing/feel/club length that I just can't seem to wrap my brain around and get the feel for. I'd love to see more iron vids if you're willing. Thank you so much for your channel!

Fantastic video on concept and what to think about. I’m high single figures so still have a long way to go but, looking back to when I began 3 years ago, I only ever improved significantly when I changed my concept or aspect of my focus. Mike Austin-ish wrist conditions, in terms of the trail palm. A wrist can oscillate, i.e. move and place itself in a wide variety of positions, conditions. The centripetal forces of the swinging club will also move the relatively weak wrist muscles, so lots can go wrong if the club and face get to sub-optimal locations, i find. Letting go of trail wrist extension into flexion can also be a function of braking, averting over-acceleration. Braking can/should be a function of footwork and ground forces. As the arms slow, the club can release, snapping out, if not inhibited by other mis-applied forces. Thanks for your excellent content!

I enjoy your videos and the way you teach. I do have a question regarding speed. You say the speed comes from pushing and releasing your trail hand ahead of your lead hand. How does your trail hand produce the speed? Is it from flipping the wrist or pushing with your arm or the turn as you flip your hand. Thanks for your response.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
Hi John. In your back swing your trail arms bends to move the club to the top. If you extend slow your club will move slow and if you extend fast (throw) your club will move faster. The trail arm wrist helps with some speed but the arm moving your trail hand is the important part.

Hey Marcus, love this video. I do have a question though. You say your head goes back to hit up on the ball. It’s so true but I think it’s a huge power source as well. Many greats have done this. Ian Woosnam is 5 ft 4 in. And said it is how he cracked the whip. Ernie Else has great videos of the same thing. As they say similar to the hammer throw in the Olympics. More then just a positioning. Is this what you feel? Kind of a snap of the wrist when you pull back? Or is the c7 vertebrae more of a point to swing around? Thanks for any reply. One more thing,,,do you ever hit a bad shot? Great stuff. JS
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 10 ай бұрын
I hit many bad shots but not often when I do videos or do instruction. On the golf course playing it can go horribly wrong. 😱 Like I say in the video, my head movement is a result of my hand movement so I don't need to think about it. 👍

When I watch your swing you don’t worry about keeping your lead arm straight in the backswing, is that intentional? It seems like every other video I watch the emphasize keeping the lead arm straight into the back swing.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. The straight lead arm is NOT a must in the golf swing. Many people think so but I lose to much speed doing that. I straight arm becomes a stiff arm and that cost to much energy.

It is really hard to hit a modern driver to high without a hight impact on the face. Check your impact and tell me the result...
@parkmeadows8724
@parkmeadows8724 Жыл бұрын
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad My impact seems to be the upper part of the driver, center to heel section, mostly. I was fitted with a 12 degree driver as I could not seems to get them up in the air before.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
@@parkmeadows8724 Then you need to release even earlier to get the club to hit more up on the ball. It will start high but fly perfect. Find the center face. If you hit up on the ball you probably don't need 12 degrees anymore. 👍

I go back toe up and try to roll wrist to toe up , works sometimes, takes perfect timing, should I keep face looking at ball on way back . This feels like a slap at ball, not as powerful as the wrist roll.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
Hi John. I can't decide for you but the flexion and the extension of the wrist is moving the club a lot more than the roll of the club face. If we move it more in the same time as before we get more speed.

So, staying behind ball with 5 iron? Hit up? With an iron? You said not what happens on irons. So, hit down with irons with force toward low point?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
It depends on the shot you're trying to hit, not the club. I would not recommend hitting up with any iron. Watch this for more info: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5aneZKtdtFob8k

Excellent question. How athletic can we be, as age progresses, in getting the lower body out of the way? Farther from the ball can be a breakthrough, instead of copying the tour players who are exceedingly athletic in their feet and leg movements.

Yes, with your driver. Casting is bad if it's over the top to the ball but doing it for the inside "under the top" will give yo amazing result. Watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5yWZ4eYa99mZsksi=YzAE0sg0ZbIByESF
