I realised that when i try to swing out as much as i can, i get that high finish and tall posture and weight shifts to the lead side even with the driver. When i dont swing out enough my club exits on my shoulder line on the followthrough and then i usually get bad shots and finish with bent legs and not with a good tall posture.

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Thanks, i needed to see this video. Filmed myself yesterday and saw that i start the downswing with a slight rotation before my arms start to move, this throws the club to a slightly steeper angle and i dont like that. When i tried to feel that i dont rotate at all on the downswing, then my arms started first and i was able to keep the circle on the same path. Much better shots and feel like there is a lot more swing speed. Also noticed that the harder i try to hit, the early rotation kicks in. Old habits die hard it seems

I think it was Monte Scheinblum who asked tour pros and long drivers to shake his hand with the force that they use during the swing. Most said, they hold it "very lightly" but squeezed his hand to death. So as you said in the video, the feeling is very subjective and depends on the max power one has. As I understand it, the idea is to have the grip firm, but the wrist still flexible..?

😏🙂If the Sternum establishes the Low Point, your sternum is not even close to being behind the ball by 3 feet with the Driver. You are covering the ball with your Driver in the middle of your stance, or it's an Illusion in setup.🤔
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

Sternum is not establishing low point. If it would be that easy everyone would hit up on the ball if they wanted. Timing is controlling low point.

Hello Marcus. I have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you very much. You are a gift to golf enthusiasts! You often mention that you don't keep wrist angles. What about the beginning of the downswing when the movement of the hands is primarily a downstroke? Do you immediately force the clubhead down with your trail hand? Or will the wrist movement come later when the direction of the club head movement is more towards the target? I'm trying to learn to use my wrist more effectively and figuring out when to push with trail hand. Would like to gain more distance.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 2 күн бұрын
Most of the job is made by the trail arm. From the top I start to extend my trail arm in the back and downward direction. Most speed in my opinion is also created by the arm more than the wrists. Wrist movement starts early with a driver but later with and iron.

Is hitting up mostly about how much side bend you have or the wrist angles at impact or both, or should moving the low point further back be enough and accomplish the right things? @@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Forgot to ask, how should the hands be at setup with a driver. My tendency is that my hands are forward. Because whe want to hit up on the ball should the hands be behind at setup so you have more loft at setup, instead of slight deloft because hands are forward.

Hi Marcus , glad to see your getting back to normal. Your idea to speed up prompted me to try to do the same. So with trusty 6 iron I only managed 103 mph, but ball speed, not club. Your coaching has got me drawing, sometimes slight hook but mainly straight and consistent. My take away and finish have much improved thanks to you. Yr ball position idea of finding what suits me great and slightly forward suits my irons.I try all sorts of stances. So why so slow. Saw an old video of yours on palm push. Could it be that I'm pushing too late. I'm swinging as fast as I can but it makes no difference. Thanks.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 2 күн бұрын
I can guide you to do it better but not to do it faster. Gaining speed is a very slow and hard process. It's like weight training and we can only get what we need by being patient and keep going. Your body will adapt to the new training but the progress steps are different fore everyone. I normally loose speed the days before a new record and I don't know why. It's almost like my body wants to trick me into quitting. I can only tell you to keep going and try to do the training regularly. The results will come.

I try to swing my hands "out" but body rotation brings it back close to the target line. I want a push motion and mostly get 6-8 degrees in to out path with the club and my hands follow. That means that my hands never go to the target. To hit a fade I change set up and release timing but still no hands to the target. I almost never try to swing straight. I wanna know how the ball will move.

Thanks for sharing, Marcus. "Down&out" is also depended on the ball position. correct? In this video, the ball is more towards your trial foot rather than at the center of the stance for a PW. Is that the reason for low and long flight? Do you use that position for mid& long irons as well?

Love your unique style Marcus (from Ireland). When I try your drill I am way faster with my right hand (I've always been right handed), and both hands are even slower than the left -Id say 7/10 with right, 4/10 with left, 3/10 with both-I normally swing driver 100mph. So, I am concluding that my left hand (lead) must be slowing down the natural action of the right hand (trail). I think I fully get the circle of speed concept and the need to extend the right hand quickly, but have you any specific thoughts on getting the left hand (lead side) to stop slowing down the right (I am trying to make sure I push out with the right and turn the hands over, but still the left seems to be 'in the way' almost). I know there is a famous picture of Freddie Couples letting go with one hand at impact, as an example?
