When she realized it didn't care to lose her at all, she immediately stopped and complied, being a good wifie-gf as it gets. I think Philippinas are much better. Most of them just want a better life with you and they will appreciate it. I've been to Thailand and the Philippines and know the score. I'll tell you a story about a friend of mine who met a Thai girl in the States. She and her mom were staying at her aunties, who owned a Thai restaurant. She was here on a student visa. She was 21 and gorgeous. My friend was 50, but fit. Still, big age gap. They started dating and she moved in with him because she didn't want to be around her mother any more ( and of course, her goal was to get a visa status change and get a green card by marrying my friend, who was clueless about it). After living with him for 6 months, they got married. My friend worked a fireman's shift ( 2 and 1/2 days away from home ) so he had plenty of time to spend with her. This was about 10 years ago, and he was making decent money ( about $80,000 a year ) and he had plenty of accumulated vacation time, so he took her all over the place: cruises, other countries, other cities in US etc. He paid for everything, including her clothes and cosmetics. She was a great cook , besides being beautiful, and he thought that he was in heaven. After about 6 years, she got antsy staying at home and decided that she wanted to work. My dummy friend paid for her acting school (of all things that will ruin a relationship ) Any way, one day he went on a business trip and when he came back, she was gone and so was everything in his house, including his car. She left a note saying not to try to find her and that her lawyer will get in touch with him. He never knew what hit him. She was with him for 6 years and really thought that she loved him. Must have been a hell of an actress and a patient one at that. Moral of the story: When there is a significant age gap, there is no real love on the part of the much younger person. Both Thai and Philippina women are known for marrying much older men but for the most part, the Thai women almost always do it with a plan to take advantage of the guy and leave him, whereas Philippina women, for the most part, are just happy to have someone that treats them good. For them , it's a trade off but they remain loyal. If you want to have a lot of good aerobics with different partners, Thailand is the place. If you are looking for a woman to settle with who doesn't mind the age gap, marry a Philippina.

And then it is only 50% of the assets aquired during the marriage, not before, those assets aquired are shared. If a man has $1 miilion at marriage and 1 million at devorce like a house he owns for a long time she will get very little or none. She will get 50% of the incresed value of his house. Any increased value of the mans house is treated a common property and must be shared. That how it usually works. But of course in Thailand nearly always when you buy or build a house the land has to be in your Thai wifes name and then you lease it from her through a complicated system of leaseing. She usually gets the final properety ownership if you devorce. Farangs cannot own land in Thailand like they can and receive title in their names in most Western countries. Big, big trap for old farangs.

Not true in Australia re assets owned before marriage being safe - as per the Family Law Act, divorce financial settlements must take into account the financial contributions of each party to the marriage, which includes assets brought into the marriage by each party. All good so far. However, there are 2 aspects to the law - there's the written legislation and there is what's called case law - which is the Court's interpretation of how the written law applies. In relation to pre-marital assets, the Family Court looked at this issue in a particular case in the 70's and issued a ruling that after a reasonable time , assets brought into the marriage become IRRELEVANT - and that a reasonable time is 10 years. Hence ever since then it's been a general rule based on that case law that after 10 years of cohabitation she gets at least 50% of everything (including e.g. 50% of the house you owned before the marriage). Less than 10 years and she still gets a proportion - I tell people that a good rule of thumb is expect to lose entitlement to 5% of your assets each year during the first 10 years of cohabitation. Don't be mislead into believing that assets you owned before marriage are yours - they are not!!@@davidwalden2887

First I am amazed at the foreigners that come to Thailand and fall in love with a Thai girl. The one thing that really stands out for me is the guys will do things for Thai women that the would not even do for their own mothers. And they seem to be really proud of themselves for doing it. Ask yourself would you dating a girl in your own country would you be giving her cash money? How about knowing that she is still sleeping with other men while you are not there. In fact sleeping with many men? How about buying her a home knowing that you have no legal control over that home that you bought even if you have proof that you paid for it. And then when you have the home built the women you love so much moves her family in the house and still never can stop asking for more money. I have lived and worked in Thailand for over 55 years first coming here in 1968 and I have seen it all. And the one thing that I have noticed is that only at best maybe 2% died of old age and happy with his Thai wife. I know of Thai wives that had their husbands killed for ownership of businesses and even their live insurance these I have read about in Thai newspaper since the girls were caught who knows how many got away with it with out getting caught. This is not only in Thailand it is common all over Asia, many of the men I have worked for have left Asia stone broke while the love his wife waved goodbye fat and happy. A classic story was a man named Tiger Rydberg who owned the world famous Lucey's Tiger Den" I day famous since back in the 70's and 80's when I would walk into his bar there were New teams from America and Australia with cameras filming his bar and interviewing Tiger. When I was traveling between jobs and passing through Europe or American airports I often saw people with Lucey's Tiger Den T-shirts on walking through the airports. After his Thai wife was finished with him we people that knew Tiger had to take up a collection to get money fly him to the Philippines and money to live on for cheaper medial care and cost of living, Tiger died shortly after arriving in the Philippines. To be honest I never bothered with a Thai girlfriend. During the times I was working in Thailand I rented a house and hired a maid to run the house, cook, wash and iron. The never asked for money except for the money I agreed to pay for their services, I never tried to get them in bed either. When I wanted a woman I would go out and get the best looking woman I could find, take her to dinner, some times dancing and then take her to a hotel for the night and always paid up in front. the next morning I took her to the hotel restaurant and have breakfast with her while eating I would ask the waiter to get a cab for the lady, I gave the lady taxi fare and wished her good luck. Never going back for a second time but I am sure that sometimes I had been with the girl before but actually did not remember her. I did this for 30 year until I met my Thai wife who had just graduated from medical school. I never cheated on my wife and she for sure has never cheated on me. She had never had a boyfriend before and never ever been in a bar before. We have been married 25 years and have a 16 year old son. My wife is a department director of our local hospital and I am retired and fully enjoying my life at 77.

Thailand is one of a few East and Southeast Asian countries where girls can demand a monthly salary to be your girlfriend. It's just a cultural thing - fine if one is prepared to do that. However, as soon as the relationship ends, she's going to want either a financial settlement (like redundancy pay) or for someone else to take over her financial arrangements. I lived in China for many years where the culture is very similar and where many girls can demand an apartment, all bills paid, and a monthly allowance, but you always have to remember that she does not consider the arrangement permanent. As mentioned in the video, countries like Thailand are OK for sex tourism, so stick to that.

We have a lot of Thai and American friends, have been hanging out for over 20 years between ASEAN and USA, and followed the saga of many American and European guys in Thailand. Dan, your story line is hugely accurate and it is sad to say a cliche, most of these things happen exactly as you describe, even to our good friend who married and brought his wife to the USA and now have grown up kids - and sleep in separate bedrooms. After this length of time, we see right through the innocent young ladies, but honestly with great respect, this is the only resource that a lot of Thai families have in life and they have learned to make it very profitable for the entire family. However, you can also get as an example lifetime land usufruct to protect your investment and rights, which means it's practically impossible that if you separate, the family take your property. Instead, make strong papers to let them know that selling is the only option. Be wise and not too kind, know your rights 👌 Also, don't trap yourself in paying any monthly salaries. Instead, help your girlfriend to start her own business. Hopefully, it's online-related so you can also enjoy travelling. Unless you want 9-5 gf? I do know that these horror stories happen, a lot, but not all Thai ladies are like this. Granted I never dated a bar girl or from a website. I am in a long term relationship (11 years) and when marriage was discussed and Sin Sod was mentioned, as a true Yorkshireman I just laughed out loud and stated that would never happen, so if needed she should leave me and go find someone else. She didn't and marriage was never mentioned again. I have helped her along the way but way less than any English woman would expect me to. She works hard to make her own money and takes care of me way better than any Western woman would ever do. So yes, there are a lot of bad Thai ladies, as there are Western but many are also genuine. I guess the rule of thumb is do not be led by your little trouser friend, if you come across a bad one and you get a red flag, move on and wait it out for a good one. Good luck all! I used to interview patients and nurses from the Philippines and they followed a similar progression. I saw comments of Thai women being worse, but I can't tell the difference. Same advice regardless of where you live. As a man, secure your career or business, establish your house, vehicles and other assets all in your name only. Whether you get a wife or a live in: never put anything in both names, never pay a bill for her, don't let her use your credit card or debit card. Look into it, no document should have your name and her signature, or vice versa. I knew an acquaintance that shared these gems with me. But it was too late for me. When his wife left him, he offered to help her put her clothes in the trunk of an old Mercedes of his and give her the title. She got a lawyer, but nothing else. It works.

Pessimistic but true on occasion. A longer version however, one that can be far more expensive in the long term, is when a Thai lady has a child from a former relationship ( horrible Thai man ) then without previously taking money in large sums from a foreign boyfriend has a child with him, from that moment on that foreign man is hooked even if their relationship breaks down because his love for his own child ensures his inability to move on at the risk of losing all contact with his own child. Then drip drip maintenance payments can last a lifetime. Sometimes with the lady living secretly with the father of her first child ( the horrible Thai man who might have been in on it all along )

Dont trust any girl................. only after some tests and time. At the end in countries like thailand you are lost, coz you cannot own the land that easy.
