I'm going to be one of the very few supporters for this song, I guess. I never quite understood the Run2U comparisons everyone was talking about from the teasers and the highlight medley, so idk I appreciated how new and weird this was for STAYC. And I think both the song's short length and all of its strange vocal effects and production choices (the fact that the chorus comes in without a drop) are totally consistent with the story/message that the MV/song is telling. It definitely works much better in the context of the album too!

For me its confusing. Because this sounds is unexpected? For me, it sounds flat somehow and it is not something I expected from STAYC? Even the flow of the song is also something unexpected. Also, it might be because of expectation, maybe my brain can accept this if this song is given (for example) to NewJeans? Like i always expect like much more complex, fuller song from STAYC, and then when suddenly STAYC bring up this style of song, it totally different from what I expect, therefore i got confused and the brain might need time to adjust and once it is adjusted, maybe i will love the song

To be honest I really like Run2U so I was like expecting to like this also. However I'm kinda also disappointed how this song is very short like at least give us a bridge😭. I was initially pretty thrown off with the song upon my first listening. But while listening to the full album, somehow I immediately like it after listening to it the 2nd time. I don't even know how it happens because tbh I haven't really warmed up to RUN2U until now (it's still my least favorite STAYC song), but probably because the beat of this song is just too good and many parts are so catchy. Aside from Cheeky Icy Thang, the full album itself (Metamorphic) consists of diverse and easy-listening songs. It's an amazing album, really. I rarely like ALL songs in one album, no matter how biased I am to the groups. But damn I can't help but loving every single song in Metamorphic. Yes, I like all 14 songs. They are just THAT good. If any of you feel off with the title track, please try to give the whole album a listen. It's truly promising ❤

I felt the exact same way at first. It feels very STAYC like but also unfamiliar. I think it's a good feature cause they managed to show us the new side and at the same time stay in their own flavour. I have a love hate relationship with this song. It’s too short and I would love a bridge. I am not personally a fan of the voice effects added to mainly the chorus. But I watched the showcase performance of the song and I love it more there because they don’t have those effects. I love the instrumental though :’) It will probably grow on me after a few listens but who knows :’))🌸 Gonna go and listen to the album now :3

The instrumental has a huuuuuuuge potential. It’s experimental but screams STAYC, but Rado decided to apply the “experiment” with the melody too which did not give unfortunately. It sounds so out of place. The sing talking threw me off because there was so much potential on those bars, it got wasted when he could’ve inserted a more palatable melody in it

This is exactly STAYC’s sound, people just forgot because they came back with Bubble & Teddy Bear. For me, this is a reminiscent of ASAP and RUN2U. Electro-pop (?) kinda sound is STAYC’s sound. It’s not exactly my favorite title track I’ll be honest. But at least 1 Thing made me stay. You’ve got to check out 1 Thing!

For me I love the song, but I feel like there’s not enough happening to divide the song into versus, pre chorus and chrous, it all sounds like one big verse with stuff getting added. I liked it but I feel like especially for their first album the song fell flat and has a lot of missed opportunities. This should’ve made a huge impact instead it’s length and same sound throughout is gonna make it forgettable in their discography for me
