chef's choice has a 40% chance of giving you one of the 2 eles you need while a roll has 27% chance. So it's much better especially when you are looking for both eles. Even when you are looking for just one of the eles, chef's choice is 20% vs 14% for a roll. And that doesn't even account for the free gold eles you can get. 40% chance you get your money back. Not to mention, you save 3 gold if you get the ele you want. It's an insta buy if you are lubbing.

One more thing i realized. When you are looking for both eles, chef's choice is net +0.2 gold. It's -0.2 gold when you are just looking for one ele. Definitely a buy when you are looking for both. Otherwise somewhat conditional on how many free rolls you have.

The proper way to do it is to play it on the 2/1 ele. Because you can't get the same minion you play on, the only possible outcome is luber (amazing), bejeweled (great), 2/2 token (net neutral gold), 1/4 reroll (net neutral gold), meaning if you are looking for the key cards, you literally cannot get a bad result.

no, dont buy anything else! Only overconfidence, you dont need OIL at all! Think about it, oil is stupid investment at the beginning till you dont break 30 G barrier. Only buy overconfidence, money generation 1 drops, blood money and 2 mana cost book. Once you start breaking 40 gold barrier, level to 3 so that you can combine this with reckless investment to take 3 G loan with it. Late game is when you are left with 1 opponent, level and get the faceless card which gains stats per spell you cast.

Boring or not, I don't think it's here to stay. I'm not an active player, but this play pattern doesn't match how Blizzard designs the game, so I think they'll do something to change it. Hard to say what the change will be though..
