Any vikings fan would tell you dline was a bigger need than cb. Pur cbs aren't great but they aren't bad and we have depth at the position along with running 3 saftey sets. We only had ginkel and greenard on our dline along with a few late to mid round picks + replacement level starters.

The most frustrating thing about Dallas is if we gave Micah dak cedee and tryon extensions. We could have cleared up to 40m$ in cap space for this year. As well as not having to take Tackle in the 1st round. But as for my entire life the jones family conducts bad business and our good players rot away on this team

While those are problems, they're not The Problem. We just saw decision-making only lose the Ravens, Lions & 49ers playoff games *because most coaches become unable to think clearly under big game pressure.* Gee, I wonder if that describes Mike McCarthy to a T? Sean McVay just hired an assistant to help him with Just That. He's self-aware enough to realize his play-calling often goes into a Wrong Mode in the clutch. Andy Reid is the only HC I know of who _doesn't_ do that. The Cowboys have the roster. But the instant One Thing Went Wrong in the game against Green Bay, McCarthy reverted to old habits. As he has done EVERY big game of his NFL career. How am I the only person who sees this? It's been over a decade!

@@choosecarefully408 He doesn’t want to push money into the future. I think Dak and McCarthy are both gone if they don’t at least make it to the NFC Championship. They want that money then to build for a new QB.

@@kaisercortex4115 Having worked middle management & being annoyingly observant, the problems with most team owners is that they are *business owners.* It's not a good mentality as they likely never played team sports themselves. Add to that the fact that they likely know nothing about football & there are a couple of likely ways this can go. You get the hands-off owners who because they don't _really know_ what they're dealing with hire others to handle all operations or you likely get Jerry Jones who doesn't feel a thing is "his" _unless_ he's meddling. Neither approach is good for the team. Then you add that when someone doesn't understand a thing they either always try to avoid dealing with it or again, meddle too much (Tepper, Jerry Jones). But also there's this: they see the whole thing from a business perspective. So they see the coaches as supervisors & players as employees. Nothing makes a business owner more uneasy than seeing those two classes (as they perceive them) getting along. This is why Rich Bisacchia gets shoved unceremoniously out for Josh McDaniels & why Jerry doesn't care if McCarthy is a winning coach or not. They _*prefer* the tyrannical style coach who looks like they're keeping their employees in line. Matt Patricia keeps getting work, right? These are things owners do without being consciously aware that they're doing it. They can't shake their need for control as a Higher Priority than winning. Sadly.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if after all the years of everyone saying “this is their year” for the cowboys, now that everyone is out on them, they finally stay completely healthy and a bunch of guys broke out and Dak goes crazy in his contract year and they actually did it😂

@choosecarefully408
@choosecarefully408 27 күн бұрын
It wasn't great. I want to see them progress & I'm not comparing it to last season's. It wasn't as bad as Baalke & the Jags, but it does have similarities in that they didn't always draft at positions of greatest need & even within that didn't draft the best player left on the board at that position. Can you name a single person you feel will be a day one starter for certain that some other team doesn't have a better prospect at that they picked later?
@dumpsterfirefrl
@dumpsterfirefrl 26 күн бұрын
@@choosecarefully408Yeah CB Kamari Lassiter. Slides into the starter CB2/nickel role that was the Texans’ biggest position of need and there was a CB tier drop off in the draft after him. Melton, Sainristil, Rakestraw, or Green are buried on the depth chart and probably won’t even start.

@@dumpsterfirefrl I haven't studied defensive alignments *nearly* enough to follow you, sorry. Generally, when watching college tape, everyone on defense attacks wherever the ball goes. In the NFL too many DCs think Their Schemes are way better than what any player can do outside of structure so a Kyle Hamilton is very rare & a player whose footage shows the first in college will rarely make the plays that got them to the NFL once there. But that's all I've figured out so far. I need to study this more. Like why do the Seahawks have such poor defense when they have one of the best secondaries? Or _do_ they? CB yes, S no. So is it their schemes, lack of talent mid-field or...? I haven't learned enough yet to see it. So at least I'm not disagreeing with you, but I also can't keep this conversation going.
@dumpsterfirefrl
@dumpsterfirefrl 24 күн бұрын
@@choosecarefully408 I mean outside of structure would usually refer to after a QB breaks the pocket and the defense has to go into a scramble drill, but they should ideally be following the rules and assignments of the defensive scheme so they can work together in unison as a unit. Someone getting too head strong and trying to make a play that isn’t their assignment can leave lapses in the defense that the offense can take advantage of. DCs are trying to match the personnel strength’s that best fit their defensive scheme. It’s a battle between OCs and DCs to stay on the cutting edge of scheme and how to exploit it. Seattle ran mostly a Cover 1 and Cover 3 that evolved into a pattern-match, after OCs were using route combinations that exploited rules in the defense. However, a lot of it hinges on Seattle’s front 4 getting pressure with a 4 man rush. So I don’t know enough about Seattle’s personnel packages to tell you what was the crux of the problem whether it was an aging personnel or scheme that hadn’t evolved with the times.

HALLELUJAH! Yes, Kingsbury can not win with The Best QBs. I think that the new owners, being inexperienced looked around & asked "what coaches have the most experience?" But they *should* have asked "who are the best coaches available?" They don't know football or what they're doing.

So? "Waah, not everyone makes the videos that appeal most to My Opinions." What effect do people's opinions have on anything? "The Bears won the off-season" they all agree with. _Really?_ Find me a single mental pr physical skill Caleb has that Fields hasn't already done better in the NFL than Caleb has shown us he can do in college. Name One. There was one Caleb Williams they could have traded & had draft picks galore for years to come & the one they _did trade_ for at best one single 4th-rounder. They probably could have gotten at least 3 picks higher than that & maybe some veteran o-line help to boot. I'm not sure how they measure that as "winning" but then again despite Fields making that offense #1 in the NFL 3 weeks straight _BEFORE_ they acquired D.J. Moore & Eberflus' horrible play-calling losing all 3 of those games, they still think Fields is somehow 100% responsible for being a bust on the Bears. So opinions have nothing to do with reality anyway. Let them have theirs. & oh yeah, please, anyone, I don't want to be lacking this, please tell me any one thing Caleb can do that Fields can't.
