Dennis Bryon, their drummer, had to go home to Wales because his mother was very sick. Karl Richardson and Alby Galuten, took a sample of his drum track from Night Fever and spliced it into a 4 track loop that became the beat of Stayin Alive. Genius. That "bluegrass " rhythm guitar is Barry.

Amazing rendition Broden - Stayin Alive was certainly ahead of its time studio-wise and is a masterpiece of Barry's falsetto vocals and 22 tracks of terrific studio engineering created by masterminds Karl Richardson and Alphy Galutens, which was just rolled out at the time. In a 2017 poll, this all time classic was ranked #1 as the most played track by all radio stations around the globe by a wide margin. 🍾🔥

About drums: Dennis Bryon (their drummer) left the studio in Chateauvill in France, so his mother was very sick. They created a drumloop and when Dennis came back, he only added some percussionwork so he's been very impressed of the loop. About Barry, playing acoustic-rythm guitar (tuned in open D): Dennis, who's been around with many other bands over the years, wrote in his book 'You Should Be Dancing, My Years With The Bee Gees': To me, there's no one better than him.

Forgotten: Needless to say, in singing falsetto, Barry is kinda hell for everyone, trying to compare. Powerful, holding notes very long and bringin' in vibrato and reaching high frequences. And then the basslines of Maurice! Not overdoing anything, just so deep connected with the whole thing. That song at all is nothing lesser than genius and art in music. And if 'Satisfaction' from the Stones is called hymn of the sixties, 'Staying Alive' is same thing of the seventies. Got most airplays over the planet since 2017, letting 'Yesterday' from fab four, which was recorded ten years earlier, behind. More and more, people realise that the summit of nearly five decades of Bee Gees in songwriting, singing and playing music is just a level of their own.

@@luffegun I believe you forgot about the range of Robin and Mo. Barry stated that Robin did falsetto better than he did. Also, Robin did the awesome vibrato. Please do research, and the facts will be there. 😊
