@SalvoG THIS is just one of their many many hits over their 40+ year career! The movie this was in was a blockbuster and won awards too including some for their music. Welcome to the wonderful world of NO AUTO TUNE BABY! Isn't is awesome? Exactly how you head them here IS exactly how quite a few of my friends heard them in concert cuz they were able to score tickets! They used to sellout within minutes! They were constantly adding show's at the Nassau Coliseum and also Madison Square Garden. I live like 10 minutes away from the Coliseum IF you drive slowly 😂 So if you couldn't get tickets over there? Within the week, level was playing would be at Madison Square Garden. The Garden is like an hour and 15 minute ride on the LIRR away. Believe me~any concert nights going to or out of NYC? Those train were like open bar cars! It was a lotta fun! We'd just walk in there with cases of beer & bottles in our jackets and none of the conductor said anything. IF anything they well just like hey you guys going to a concert tonight? Who's playing? 😂#NYGenXBIKERLady

Barry is the oldest. Andy was the youngest. He died when he was thirty. Robin and Maurice were twins and I saw a documentary that said they just knew when to put their voices in a song at different times. Maurice died in 2003 and Robin in 2012. Barry is the last one left. I saw a documentary that said Andy and Barry were like twins down to birthmarks. I am so glad I grew up in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s best music ever.

They recorded this in the mid seventies, long before autotune. They performed it on stage, too. No pauses, for sure. I read a comment somewhere that it takes unshakeable self confidence to sing a line like, "Well you can tell by the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man no time to talk!" In a relentless falsetto like theirs. They sing three part harmony in falsetto, a remarkable achievement. But they can sing in regular voices, too. Most of their early records aren't in falsetto. And oh yeah, Saurday Night Fever was a huge hit, and the songs from it were everywhere. The Bee Gees wrote all their own music, including the hits from this movie.
@cherylwright51809 ай бұрын
I grew up listening to the them,they are beyond amazing musicians, Barry wrote a song and performed with Barbara Streisand, they wrote Islands in the Stream performed by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, they wrote and produced for Diana Ross with Michael Jackson, they wrote for Dionne Warwick and many others. They are a real phenomenon, unfortunately only Barry is still with us! However all 3 brothers have talented children!

Began in 1958 and had a 40+ year career. At one time they had 5 hits in the top ten simultaneously. One of the bestselling groups of all time. Wrote more than 1,000 songs including hits for other artists. Barry Gibb, the oldest brother, is the only one still alive but he's still producing music, composing and performing. The loss of his 3 younger brothers has been devastating to him. So talented and known for their tight and beautiful harmonies. They all had falsetto voices in their musical abilities but Barry's was exceptional. Check out "Nobody Get's Too Much Heaven"!
Permission to Bee Gee the hell out of us. We love them. 1967 was their beginnings on the charts. Their album Bee Gee's 1st would be great to do to get you rooted in where they came from.

The Bee Gees essentially wrote and composed the entire soundtrack to the movie in a weekend and submitted the demos a few days later. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack had 4 or 5 #1 hits on it and is one of the top 10 best selling albums of all time. Disco was big before the Bee Gees but they absolutely turbo charged Disco. The Bee Gees however were soooo much more than a Disco band. Their catalogue is deep and worth every minute of it. They were one of the biggest bands of all time. Pop. Soul. Ballads. Disco. They did it all.

The Bee Gees made the movie a big hit. And they write/wrote all their own songs; and none of them could read or write music! I don't think the movie would have been half as good without the Bee Gee's soundtrack. They had a younger brother, Andy, who was going to be the 4th Bee Gee, but he passed away at the age of 30. Maurice pronounced his name "Morris". React to "Too Much Heaven" Live. RIP Andy, Maurice & Robin. We sure miss ya. xxx

Barry’s signature falsetto originated in the studio when producer Arif Mardin asked if any of the Bee Gees could scream in falsetto. They were recording ad libs and background vocals for their hit “Nights On Broadway” which was on their Main Course album. Mardin was absolutely stunned at the power of Barry’s falsetto. Barry later said “My whole life, I didn’t know I could do this.”

The falsetto songs (era) are only a small part of their songs (they wrote more than 1000 and over 100 top 10 songs). "The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is actually quite a serious one; It's about survival in the streets of New York, and the lyrics actually say that". "Fun" fact:„At 103 BPM (beats per minute), "Stayin' Alive" corresponds to the recommended heart rate for cardiac massage and is well suited as a memory aid because of its popularity and the appropriate title

Yeah, I am 64, I was there, and yes this song and the rest of their music was everywhere! The movie and the album were perfectly marketed and released. It had never been done like that before. All that talent seemed to be laying dormant for years, and then suddenly out of nowhere took us over like a storm.

Great reaction. This song is apparently played every 20 seconds globally. They had 100 top 10 hits over the years. Welcome to the global superstarsom of the Bee Gees

Haha I had to pause this reaction just to ask if you were about to crack up at the very beginning of that video. Because you looked like you were holding it in. Lol that old video is hilarious. They weren’t cheesy at the time but looking back now it’s kinda funny. But, you cannot deny the talent of The Bee Gees. SO good!! You have a whole new awesome world to discover here.

Great reaction to one of the best selling groups of all time. Saturday Night Fever was a smash hit, and Travolta was great in it. Love The Bee Gees!
