I dig this one, PVG, the humor was it. Would I enjoy the hotel? Yes. The sound of a train rolling by puts me to sleep and I do like my sleeping area to be pitch black. I would stay there

Much much better than the live stream video . . . I lived about a mile from a major train route and could hear the diesel locomotives and their horns at all hours day and night. After awhile you didn’t notice. Sort of like the foghorns in San Francisco. Great video. 👍🙀🙀🙀

If it works out at approximately £33 per night, I'm staying in a best Western in akihabara for £35 per night :p Although a lot of good headphones have active noise cancellation now and so it might be even easier to get a good night sleep.

great idea to check this place out, thanks! a question tho: is it harder to sleep in that room than on a train (couchette )?
@PetervonGommJAPAN4 жыл бұрын
yes I've slept on trains and much easier for me to sleep on trains- I think because it is moving. And the booming sound goes into the structure supporting the train.

Nice! Actually, on a sleep app, they have many sounds to help you sleep such as forest, waterfall, etc....and trains. I guess it depends on not the rhythm, but how loud it is.

Hey Peter - thanks for this!! Yes, its weird things like this that makes Japan so attractive. Spot on closing comments, climbing Mt Everest aint exactly relaxing but its yes, its a great experience. So, I would probably stay at the Hotel once ...coz it will give me more conversation time to talk about to my Aussie friends that staying at an APA hotel. ..APA isnt so bad though :)

Peter...would you know...the nightly rate you were charged...is it much lower than 'typical' because of COVID or is that the 'normal' rate?

it's an unusually low rate. I think low season and covid are related.

I'd probably try it, ...dunno if I'd need room for six, but I've lived right next to train tracks before, and it's not the kind of noise that bothers me. :) (I also like the color scheme in that room. Hotel rooms are often way too bright. :) I did my own room in an olive green and white scheme )

Thank you for your fantastic advice on drugs 👍. On one hand I kinda think this is the worst idea ever and that these spaces should be reserved for things like cafes. On the other hand the muffled doki doki, doki doki, overhead kinda grew on me in this video, but I'm also a massive railfan so... Maybe they should go all in on train theming.
