The Intrepid Gaijin traded his Bonneville for a Robinson 771 and set off with his mysterious lady and gap-toothed troll. What adventures lay in store for the threesome as they traversed the mountains of Nagano savoring the culinary wonders of wasabi ice cream, eggplant katsuobushi, Hida gyu sushi, waffles and muffins and giant peaches. There would be tales of challenging detours, narrow roads and a tale of murder in an onsen. The concrete towers of Tokyo were replaced with majestic trees, bamboo forests, gassho zukuri, post towns of the Nakasendo and banana boating on Nojiri-ko. The sounds of pristine rivers...and silence enveloped them. Thanks for a great trip, PvG!

Although I have seen all of your previous videos about your trip, it is great to see it all clipped and edited together. It almost makes me want to get a camper here in Australia. It does look so convenient but I'm not sure about dodgy camping ground ablutions blocks. Surely they have improved since I was a kid?
