In this short video, I go down the rabbit hole once more to start a new track... Using tape loops and my trusty AKAI S3000XL (along its mighty low pass filter) !

But what do you use on mastering for this absolutely hypnotic audio FX?.. Means this saturated/wobbly/filtered sound, like from old VHS cassette ...

Thank you for your kind words Lea ! The answer to your question is a very simple one: tapes. Real tapes. Everything I do will be recorded directly or transferred to tape eventually in my process to create a new track. Cassettes, reel to reel, HIFI VCR... whatever works ! 😀 Thanks for watching !

Thanks a lot for your answer with details! Yes, the real tapes sounds very beautiful and organic, especially with vintage recorders/players... But I think without a good, deep and beautiful musical thoughts it isn't works so cool.. :) And exactly your creative this is just a Magic of Vibe!

very cool. do you have the extra filter board installed on the 3000, or just the stock filter? I have the same sampler and was considering the filter board but it's going for more than I paid for the sampler!!

Is that 808 sample High Fidelity Three "B Boys Breakdance"?

No but what I did with this library, over the years, is that I sampled LOTS of 808 beats from my record collection into my laptop and then, I would reassemble these samples into new ones. I would use kicks from one and snares from another one... and then, resample this new beat with the Akai. Thanks for watching !
