Dear girls, I am 81 closer to 82, I pray you get this far someday. It gets better and better, even with the deaths of good friends, husband and son, siblings and of course parents and grandparents. But God is so good . Memories are so special. Having material things doesn’t matter now. I am so content, even with every day dealing with pain and limited in what I can do. Knowing God is in control keeps my faith growing. Thank you for your prayer. I love you girls. ❤

What about 60? That will be me on Thursday. I need to find out at what age we can say just about anything and people know not to be offended because we might have dementia. I’m thinking 80 because my mother tells me to not pay much attention to what she says to me. I keep reminding myself how much I love her and pray to love her even more! ❤

I was not blessed with a sister, but the Lord united me with my spirit sister, Wendy, who is just like a biological sister to me. We met 25 years ago in a young married small group. We have been through so many life experiences together including, having children, raising our kids, sending them off to college and now her oldest is getting married this summer. We both know our friendship is a gift from God that filled a need we both had. And God has a great sense of humor by giving us the same birthday. But funny story... we can chat for hours and hours on end even after spending a weekend together. On our way back from a girls' weekend away, we had arrived at out airport terminal early like you and Dawn. We started chatting and before you know it, we looked around and everyone was boarded. We realized that we missed the boarding announcements, and we were the very last ones to get on the plane. We almost missed our flight sitting there at the terminal chatting. But God works in mysterious ways. We were flying Southwest and being the last 2 people boarding forced us to sit in the last 2 seats in the last row of the plane. I sat next to a young man who little benownst to me would need my comfort during the flight. It was the most turbulant and scary flight I have been on. During the flight, the young man next to me was sobbing and frightened. I remember taking his hand, comforting him and rubbing his shoulder. We got to talking to take his mind off the flight, and he revealed that he didn't have his anxiety meds with him. I felt that God put me next to this man to be a comfort for him. Our God works in wonderful ways to use us where we're needed, and he uses our cirmustances for his glory.

I am learning at 63 to deal with not only depression, sciatica, back pain, trigger fingers but also asthma. I find getting fresh air even if I just open the windows or go for a drive [ heat on, window and sun roof open ] is helping . Because while my body adapts to the new medicine I get winded still that is why I let fresh air in any way I can because I know one day again I will be able to enjoy half hour walks without alot of effort. Thank you ladies for this video .While I am not a mom or wife I realize as a single person all efforts are mine - housework, car maintenance, work-earning money - I am semi retired, expenses-budget, laundry, safety, housing, Spiritual relationship, people relationships, pet care and so on. There’s a huge freedom that you unintentionally gain in your 40’s. You stop giving a rats keister what others think and live more for yourself, family, passions. And the pains are no joke. Suddenly when you bend over you remember you’re halfway to 80! Ouch! I could do without worrying of wrinkles and acne at the same time! Oh, and don’t even get me started on pre-menopause 😮

Really enjoyed this video. I can so relate to the Charlotte Airport experience. In 2020 I flew to see my dad for the last time. It was literally the two weeks before they shut the country down. I had never flown by myself. I was 68 that year. I felt so blessed that God put young people on the flights with me, that helped me navigate the airports! I had to get off my plane and go to the far side of the airport to make a short connection time flight! So thankful to those who helped me out. My dad passed a couple months later (not from covid) at 94 1/2 yrs. Truly blessed that both my folks lived into almost their mid 90's. You two are such a blessing to so many people. I think you help us all relate, even with the age span difference. God Bless you both.

I have to say, as soon as I turned 40, my eyelids started to droop. It was seriously an overnight experience, and I totally freaked out. Was NOT expecting that. Also, I’m not able to sleep very well anymore, and lack of sleep affects me so much more in my 40s than it did when I was in my 20s and 30s. Physically and socially, I sometimes long for my younger years. But mentally,emotionally, and spiritually, I hands-down LOVE the wisdom and unselfishness that comes with age. It truly is a beautifying of the soul that makes up for any wrinkles and aches or pains.

I'll be 40 later this year, and I really long for the confidence others seem to find at that age. I have 2 little children and I feel like I don't know what I'm doing half the time. And I care too much about what other people think, as well as struggling with comparison. I'm going to pray that God will help me move forward with more confidence and less comparison.
@cynthiafisher9907
@cynthiafisher9907 Жыл бұрын
I don’t know if this will help, but one thing that helped me was to hear that when we care so much what other people think, we are placing them as an idol in our lives. The one who we should care what they think of us is the Lord. That really clicked with me and has helped me so much to grow in that area.

I have grown children, so not in the same stage of life, but if I had kids right now, I would be very diligent about the internet access they have, especially social media. I would probably also homeschool from middle school at least until they are 15-16, depending on the maturity of the child. I would also try to spend a good amount of time doing something with them that they are interested in. There is just so much harmful information out there, I think it’s important to monitor things as they make their way through adolescence. It’s a mine field out there right now! Also, pray, pray, pray for them to have a close relationship with the Lord. I feel for you and I hope I didn’t overstep.

You two are so fun to be able to share into your lives! I turned 60 last week and … really? I can’t wrap my head around that number. I don’t mind it, it doesn’t bother me. Just that I don’t see myself being 60😂 Like I always thought that was old…and I’m not old! You will always be able to see the bigger picture and know that God is in control (sometimes the bad things need to happen so that others come to Him with a softened heart, or just need to rely on Him- something they wouldn’t do if their life was always good.) 2 of my older brothers have suffered this last year but that has caused them to have to turn to Jesus. So through the suffering, they have salvation they would not have otherwise. Thank you for blessing us!

It’s hard! I have 4 girls. 21-15-13 and 11. I know laughing with them really helps . It’s easy when we all get moody to get grumpy but if we have a time of getting along it helps!

So excited! I was just thinking how much I wish I could have heard both of you speak! Will the online session be recorded or just live? I would pay to be able to watch the recording, too, if I can't watch it live.

I am only half way through your video and already have to stop, to comment! Thank you so much for the encouragement. I love listening to your wisdom and am so thankful, I have found both of your channels. Be abundantly blessed for the amazing work you do. I hope one day I can fly over to Minnesota to meet you in person. Until then, I will keep cheering you on from afar :) Many blessings from Germany.

As someone who has been basically homebound for 4 years due to multiple chronic health issues, I appreciate the two of you very much. I've been fighting these conditions for 20+ yrs but it's gotten out of hand as I've gotten older (late 40's) So much of my life has been stolen, but I still believe the Lord will restore. I.would appreciate.your prayers. I count.my.blessimgs, & God is.my Rock. I.would.very.mich like to bring Him Glory by helping others who have suffered like me one day. You ladies really.mean.alot.to me, I am blessed to have found.you years ago, thank you 😘😘

I appreciate you ladies so much. Such wisdom. I am the same age- 40, born on 1982. I have naturally always made some degree of fitness a priority. And what works best for me is spending a little on home workout equipment (I buy used off of Marketplace) and owning a wide variety of free weights. I find difficuly, condensed workouts and can manage to weight lift, run, and cross train with the help of KZbin and my basement.
