Today we're staying in a geodesic dome just north of Toronto, Ontario! This past year we've been going in search of unique AirBnB stays across Canada, and we recently found this luxury glamping experience not too far from home.
This geodome is located halfway between Nobleton and King City and it makes for the perfect weekend escape from Toronto.
This geodesic dome takes glamping to a whole new level in terms of comfort - it has carpeted floors, gourmet coffee, a spacious wooden deck with patio furniture, board games, a vintage record player with a fun collection of records to play, and so much more.
The AirBnB also has a nice walking trail that goes all around the property, plus there is a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and a hammock to hang out and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. It was the perfect way to unwind and reconnect with nature.

That was some nice glamping you did there and the sushi looked great! Buckminster Fuller wanted to use geodesic domes as an alternative to the post war housing situation back in the day, but it didn't catch on. A round space is so different from your typical square or rectangular house. And yes Sam, it's a good idea indeed to unplug everything at least one day a week and just enjoy what the day brings forth. Good seeing you two again.

Just loved this place! As it seemed, at least to me, a bit of an exclusive place, was it difficult to book it? Is there just one dome or are there others in this area where you stayed? How much did the overnight stay at the Dome cost?

Hi Bruno, we booked this place through AirBnB (link is in the description). This particular place had 2 domes on site and we paid $190 CAD per night (plus cleaning fee + service fee).

Hi! Do you know that in Esquel there are domos like this? I ´m living in Viedma, Río Negro, and there is a beach called Bahia Kreek (40 km far) where a group of young people installed them too this year! I believe on January.. for summer holidays.
