If you look at those wires. You should have little ridges on the positive side and there should be bigger prong so you can't plug the hot side into the neutral side. But if you go to Electrical stores they'll have wires built with the ends turned already. But this is a pretty good idea

I used the grinder to make them the same size.

If I had to charge with mine I would just use a normal 120V charger. The reason is the 12V from the output is not regulated through the inverter. If I remember right its coming right off the windings. Running a regular charger is going to provide filtered power and also have the advantage of switching to float voltage instead of cooking the battery (assuming you are using a modern charger). The 12V is good in a pinch though if you don't have a charger available.

That's correct but I wouldn't use it over night. Just enough to charge the starting battery on my truck

Maybe I missed it, but do you have a part numbers for the brass fitting, cap, and hose? I want to make sure I get the correct thread/size, etc. Thanks for sharing all your tips & tricks.

Those were all great tips. I have a Honda 2000 generator. One of the things I worry about is someone disconnecting it and driving off with it while I'm sleeping. Do you have any good tips on securing it? Thanks for sharing.

Locks will only keep a honest man honest but a chain through the handle will slow them down. They also make a metal bracket to go over the handle so they can't just cut the handle off. amzn.to/3PmTK3X

Awesome tips as always Tim. I haven’t seen any transport KZbin ears talk about carbon monoxide Sensors I’m planning on putting one in. Do you guys bother ?
@tradesman632 жыл бұрын
Carbon monoxide will fill up from the floor, so you may want to place it below head level when sleeping. You don’t wake up from the long nap…. Thanks for the content.

Hate to say it but the fuel transfer thing absolutely does not work. Lots of videos out there claiming it does but you will not find one video showing the fuel reduce-only before/after. I have the same generator and have been experimenting with this for years. This generator DOES NOT have the ability to draw fuel from an auxiliary fuel tank created by the vacuum a full honda fuel tank creates (even with a primed line). It will, however, gravity feed. You need to gravity feed it or feed it with a small engine fuel pump (which requires a pulse).

@@TravelinTim Nope. Again, I have used as small as a 1/8 inch inner diameter fuel line at two feet long. Primed or not, the generator simply does not have the power to draw fuel out of a vessel at equal height.

Could you make the battery charger plug into your 7 way plug so you could charge at night without the genny being moved up front and having the hood open?
@timothysheppard32762 жыл бұрын
Could you use a small boat tank to add to that generator

Can you show where you place while running, and store while transporting?

I just leave it in the bed of my truck right where it's at for storage and when running

I have a wen generator and I did everything you did and mine won’t transfer fuel. Any idea why or what else I could try? Thanks
