This video isn’t about embarrassing anyone or degrading the Mustang, which is an amazing track car - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGnUYoiZnMiMa7M. It just shows that seat time is more important than model year and max hp. It’s also a plea that if a low hp car is catching a high hp car in the corners, for the love of sacred holey socks, please lift and let the little hp car pass. Then follow and learn to be faster.

Driver skill is a part of it, but its also the car. The miata was made for the corners with its lightweight and handling. As you can see in the video the miata gets pretty close cuz there is a lot of corners. The mustang wasnt made for corners. When it gets to the straight, the mustang pulls away until the corner again. Thats just how the cars are set up

I had this happen at Grattan Raceway in Mi, they rarely do open Track days as they often are always booked with track rentals. I was in an 86 NA FC RX7 and the other car was a 2nd gen eclipse. He had 100hp more than me so I'd lose him on the straight, but would catch up by the end of turn 1 because I was lighter, had better brakes and could carry more speed, but I could never get past, because he'd hog the track and Grattan doesn't have that many good places to pass. It was plenty of fun for sure, but I was pissed.

I find it intriguing that there are always people in the wrong run groups (judging by skill/line/braking/acceleration points) A lot of those "better cars" were running beginner times 1:40+?? Your NA with those mods at those times in low advanced (depending on org) is cool. The faster cars running high 1:3x - 1:4x should perhaps be shifted around run groups. Though less problematic if they actually did a point by and lifted. Also how blown were your shocks? Covered in oil + old dust attracted oil? I have a slow leak in my rear right KW V3 but I want to grind it to the ground (safely) as I can before I change up to maximize my $ to usage ratio.

Amazing driving skills, the Mustang definitely pulls but I think he's being more cautious around.

Bro that miata is a turning monster... even catching the apex that mustang doesn't have much to feel bad about this is all curves apart from that one straight away. Even an experienced driver in that gt might struggle versus a modified miata on those bends if they didn't want to start giving up traction.

My brother drove in my 2003 Subaru Forester, naturally aspirated, and was able to gain distance from his friend who drove a Mustang GT. Note it was mostly on turns.

Street results don't matter, take it to a track with proficient drivers in the seat. I'm sure on another day that Mustang would have destroyed the Subaru and vice versa.
