The one falling with film camera was me in 2010 on a commercial. It was a cable underestimated during rehearsals. Nothing broken and a big laugh from me, agency director etc. when we checked the backstage operator clip.Greetings from Italy !!

That one at 3:36 annoys the hell out of me too - a multimillionaire footballer humiliating, and perhaps threatening the livelihood, of a hardworking Steadicam Operator. Compare and contrast to the clip at 3:00 where the athletes jump in the help the fallen Steadicam Operator.

That's really annoying that that soccer player thought is was funny to trip up the guy. A lot could be avoided if someone was watching out for the steadicam operator.

On grass I wear turf cleats. The shoes have many multiple small plastic spikes, 1/4 the size of regular cleats.

good idea! I use hiking shoes but they're not perfect for everything.

@@SteadiRed Yeah, the turf type shoes work really well when starting and stopping. I feel very confident on wet grass with them on. I can just concentrate on the framing of the shot.

You missed the biggest steadicam fail... the one where the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, gets taken out by a camera man on a Segway. That one could've been disastrous but good thing for Bolt he got up without injury and even checked on the camera man.

www.nbstabilizer.com/arm This arm is, in fact, being used by some very highly regarded operators currently. This was an unfortunate break in the socket block as stated. The choice by the one demonstrating the equipment in the way was not very smart.

He might have looked stupid but he didn't do anything that should have caused the arm to snap like that. I believe it was a rod end...
