That looked delicious Dave, thanks for sharing! Fajitas are actually my go-to camp dinner, most of the prep is done at home. When you get to camp, all you need is a fire and a skillet and about five minutes. The return for effort invested is awesome!

I really enjoyed cooking on that Petromax discada during our cooking class. It worked great with the LP burner too. Of course the magic Petromax spatula is the perfect camp cooking tool. You are having too much fun out there! I look forward to the Fall cooking class!!

Those turkey fryers, or fish cookers as they are called around here, are great to have with large groups. We used them to heat water for cleaning dishes back when I was in scouts.

I made a similar dish today! I try to use up leftovers, so I chopped up some leftover meatloaf from 2 day ago, some leftover yellow rice, and I always have salsa and sour cream! Hell yeah Chef Dave!

I made mine the south Texas way. I used a disc from a plow. Welded the center hole closed and mounted it on my fish fryer. It's deeper and a third bigger then the one you're using. Technically it was free for me since I work on a farm. I can cook just about anything with it. I can sear a steak then move it to the cooler outside edge and then stir fry veggies.

Thank you 👍. Helpful tip … put the cheese on hot meat & peppers before the sour cream. This way the cheese will start to melt on top of the hot beef, and then put sour cream on top… the cheese in between the meat & the sour cream will stay in fajita better. - my name is really Gordon Ramsey.😉

@asmith78762 жыл бұрын
Any recipe that cooks a chicken in a pot you can make on a fire in a billy can. You can boil it with vegetables and make soup, or if you have a grate to go inside the can you can bake it like you bake anything. As long as the chicken fits in the pot!
