I concur. I got out of a pointless PHD program and got out of a night shift career that wasn't gonna get me anywhere even if I begged on my knees for a promotion. Went full time on etsy in late 2019 and never looked back. Sold over $21,000 since the start of the year [its Feb 3] on Etsy alone and the good news is I get to keep 60% of that since I make my own products. Paid $50,000 student loan off last year and the year before that bought me a new car in cash...never in a million years would I have thought Etsy would have done that for me. My next obsession is to buy my own house I can work from but its obviously a huge task with the prices going up. Can't wait to be like you and get me a little doggie I can put in the back of my car but I need a backyard first. Only I want a white little bichon :)

Hi Shawna, an update. I did my research on Mothers Day t-Shirts using your SEO and Design trainings. Now I have everything I need for my mothers day listings. I made a Word document with SEO's, Popular phrases, tags, trending design elements etc... so I can cut and paste. Also got beautiful Mock-ups, I have uploaded 4 listings for mothers day! Doing this has made a WORLD of a difference! It also helps me be more confident on what I'm listing. I know I did all I can do, so I don't second guess myself anymore. I also moved over that STAT button. One of the new listings has 6 views, and one has 11. No sales yet, but they will come. Thank you Shawna, for the great job you do on every one of your tutorials! What I have found when researching titles is that the first few words, which you presume are keyed in as search terms by a shopper are, in fact, merely the text that appears on that given shirt. Those first few words of a title would be more pertinent if the shirt is a graphic only, no text. Hope this helps other newbies. Excellent video.

Totally does! I have a question about the ‘hidden’ status in Printify that you can hopefully help me with please?? If you select hide in store so you can finish up your listings in Etsy before publishing, do you have to go back to Printify and change the hidden status? I noticed there is an option next to the Printify listing that says ‘show in Etsy’ - do I select that now that my listings are published on Etsy? Or is it ok that the status stays at ‘hidden’? I started my Handmade ETSY store in December 2022 because having my own business has always been my dream. Since I opened my shop I've had a total of 4 sales, (2 from family). It is how we deal with these set backs! And each set back we have is an opportunity for self growth and can shape us into a better version of ourselves. No one is ever inspired by someone's story that had an easy journey or rise to the top. It is your story... the story of the struggle... that inspires others. Lean into that challenge. Show it who is boss and how you are determined and don't give up! I did National Boards as a teacher... most people get it in one year... took me three! But BY GOD I was going to show it who was boss (eventually! LOL). I am proud of you for sharing here and being vulnerable! I am proud of you for doing things that are hard!!!! You have got both of those things and I am cheering you on!

This is super helpful. Recent advice by another mentor is saying to never repeat what is in the title and the tags and also never once repeat the same word anywhere. They are saying for instance for one tag: mom, mom, mother; for one tag, pastel, spring; for another, Unique gift for another. These are for tags it is not important to put phrases that make sense because Etsy knows to scramble them all together. The tags are supposed to answer who, what, where, when, why with no repeats. They are also saying for the title to only describe with adjectives and nouns, and never repeat, unless it is a different spelling. I am so confused by this conflict. Should I be ignoring that advice?

Hi there Donna! So my opinion on this is that there is more than one way to do almost anything! I don't think I have heard this KZbinr but if they have a successful shop they are probably sharing this info because it is how they have become successful. This video outlines EXACTLY how I do it so this is how I have managed to grow my shop. Just make sure that whoevers strategy you are using that you get the vibe they are actually doing that in there own shop and it is getting them the results you want in your own shop... that is how I have chosen the strategies I have used along the way. You might even A/B test the two strategies and see which one works out better for you. If you do that let me know how it goes! I love love love a good A/B test!

Hi Lisa! This is what I use EVERY time I do my SEO research. It takes a minute but you will get faster and faster at it, and you will be able to feel really good about what you are putting in your title and tags! I sure do anyway! I hope it helps you bunches! They were really fun for me to put together and they are 100 percent what I live by and what I have my friends using! I hope they are making listing so much easier! As far as your product question I would use what ever was most cost effective and easiest for you to list! I personally use the Gildan adult tees and a few different products depending on the sizes for the kids tees. I don't know them all off the top of my head but I just picked the least expensive ones with Prinful and went for it. The products are great and I get very few complaints! I hope this helps!

Hi Shawna, I am newer to Etsy. I opened my shop in March of 2024 and things are going a little slow for me. I discovered your KZbin Channel and I have learned more in the past couple days than I have in the past year! Your videos have given me motivation to keep going! Hi again! I should really do a video on this! I create my listings in Etsy. So I copy a listing with the shirt sizes and description I like. Then I put the SEO and tags I researched. This listing has all my sizing guides but not the mock up photos. If I made 15 reading teacher designs I copy the listing 15 times and just put the different mock up photos in each. When something sells I sync it with my POD company. I hope that makes sense!

Hi Shawna - thanks for your videos, I think you being a teacher is really paying off when it comes to KZbin education. I have a video idea I'll try to explain - could you go through what your results have been for AB testing on listing setups? I'm interested to know more about listing mechanics - like which photo cards work best (do review cards really help? What style of size chart? Is it better to do listings with tshirt/vneck/sweatshirt or tshirt/longsleeve/baby bodysuit or just one item at a time? etc.) I'm testing them in my shop but my traffic is still low compared to yours, so I'm interested to see higher volume sellers talk about listing setups more. It seems like a lot of the big shops do the "whole store in one listing thing" but I haven't found that style to increase clicks/buys as yet personally. I have no idea if anyone else is interested in this lol but just an idea :)
