I can't help but imagine the ending but in universe and from Purples perspective "ok we just did a high stakes escape and some bargaining to get off this damn planet, odd were relaxing around a thruster" then the people he's with start saying goodbye and catch you next time to empty air, and the slow dawning realization of "oh god, these people are genuinely crazy, ok just keep calm I can get away from them in just a few hours or so let's just get to space first" lol

Seeing the facility's railgun firing in the distance, with its sounds, is really cinematic. Keen did well with those sounds. I like that it actually sounds like a railgun as well, with none of the initial blast of a regular cannon. And, as well, the spaceport is such a cool place. The trucks scattered around carrying thrusters, those big drones ominously docked at the hangars, the details like mobile connection ports and fans in the walls, it looks like it was a fun build. As do the vehicles scattered around it. 54:33 Oh, wow, I actually recognize that thing. That's a real blast from the past to see, particularly alongside the ASSERT drones. I'm curious where the other end of the spaceport goes. If the ASSERT thrusters are produced around here and shipped off-world, then there has to be other stops in space somewhere. A tracker stuck to one of those thrusters could go a long way. Getting to see a massive space station or cargo ship they're being gathered at is also a bonus.

i must say, SE looks so much more immersive with suitlights OFF. I'm curious how much impact would "no headlight" mod have on the game. And i really need to finally update my flare mod. Capac would make good use of them. It was funny to hear Jetlag in the video. Really took you a while to tell the colour with bright green light in the face xD

Just some trivia that goes with the beginning of the video. An order of magnitude refers to an exponential increase or decrease of 1 generally used with factors of 10. So to increase by an order of magnitude, you are multiplying the base by 10, 2 magnitudes increase by 100. Magnitudes are use when measuring earthquakes. So a magnitude 2 earthquake is 10 times stronger than a magnitude 1 and a magnitude 8 is 100 times stronger than a magnitude 6 and 10,000,000 times stronger than a magnitude 1.

I've finally caught up with this series and hopefully there's a new episode out soon! This made me so inspired that I bought the DLC's I was missing from the complete set and have started relearning the game! Thank you TFE, Capac and last but not least Splitsie for rekindling my interest into this game! I've probably added 20 hours already to my tally building a base on a earth like with a frozen lake as the nearest feature, the lake is so long that I can't see the other end so hydrogen and oxygen won't be a issue. Got a small grid 4 wheel rescue rover for my derps, I'm on my second iteration of my small grid flying brick miner and now I'm working on an Harkonnen / Steiner inspired large grid scout rover for exploration and resource searching. Thank you all for a great series, hope it continues because this is a hoot and a half!

Our suit signals don't work and haven't worked for more than a year, that's why we can never see each other broadcasting 🙂 Also, them being broken is an intentional choice on my part to make the NPC players have an easier time with a variety of things

This random thought is inspired by TFE and your suit tailoring conversation. For SE2 I hope they enable a better character model, one that has more RPG-Skyrimmy attachment points. Wherein you can substantially customise your Engineer - bonuses included to certain items. Another thing I've always wanted to be expanded on is "rooms" or more-so zones. For example say you want to build a "Captain's Cabin", well the room would have requirements, specific amenities, or blocks that must be present within either a designated space or calculated area (akin to the pressurisation system). I think this system could be both versatile and creative, for example a "Hanger" could give benefits to battery recharge rates for internally docked ships, or better increase repair speed for welders. Whilst a "Garage" (or another name) would have benefits for welding speed, grinding speed and so on. I've always wanted more personality in this game, and I think this would certainly add-it. The system could be expanded to include an entire Ark style skill tree that could enable even greater playstyle, although at this point its probably no longer SE... I although would really enjoy it as I much prefer SEs building system, however, I've always felt like it needed a bit more of a ship building system.

Not a stupid question, especially with an episode like this. It's not scripted or at the very least none of us 3 know the script. The guys like purple are a combo of NPCs and a DM in dungeons and dragons. Whatever happens during the recording I just try to make into the best 'story' I can during the edit. Though there have been times I've wished we could do a second take, we haven't actually done one yet 😂

i am here watching you guys repair capac's rover. as i sit here watching i see the thrusters on the bottom of the rover and wondering why capac didnt use those thrusters to land smoothly instead of rashing and ending up with 2 wheels. then on the bridge, he could have used those thrusters to push himself up and lean forward to get across.

i kinda hope they will eventualy implement a more complex combat system... it doesn't realy need to be complicated, just add a couple radar blocks with relative external sensors and have tracks that have a certain degree of error (position\speed) so weapons are not braindead-aimbot , and you can actually increase the range of engagement. if this remind you of something , its influenced by Nebulus: fleet command. with a fake "radar" ( it doesn't actually need to scan, the entities will know if they are visible or not when inside the radar range) you could increase the distance of engagement without making it a death sentence to enter in range of turrets, at the same time you can stop the cheese of staying at the range limit to not get fired back.

I disabled the suit broadcast long ago and we have mods making it even less functional in order to make it possible for the guys playing the NPCs to show up without their Steam names popping up everywhere 🙂
