I wish these were known when I had my large parastomal hernia. I had it repaired in July this year. I Bookmarked this video because even though mine is repaired and the stoma was moved to the other side if I get another one I for sure want one of these. Thank you for this video.

I will be ordering one soon. I tried getting into my racing chair yesterday. It was to see if I fit (I am close) but my knees pushed up ok the devices and caused a leak. I know these help for all sorts of positions. I am wondering if we need to do a crazy custom set up for all the things I do

I am an ostomy RN and I can currently order hernia belts under the patient’s insurance. Will these be available through insurance also? It would be nice to have more options for people. Thank you.

Hi Rhonda, unfortunately our belts are not fully covered by insurance. They can be reimbursed for up to the same amount as the standard, out-of-the-box hernia support options (such as Nu-hope), but that amount is typically only about $45 - a little less than half the avg cost of a customized option like from this video. This would be done after the initial purchase by the patient through medicare or their private insurance. @@ginamarie2088 definitely true! We are working on the process for full reimbursement as well. Typical allotment by medicare (which sets the standards for private insurance companies also) for peristomal hernia belts is 10 belts at $45 each, per year ($450 total coverage per year). We're in the process of making a case that 3-4 custom Stealth Belts would be just as good (if not preferable!) to 10 less comfortable belts... we're trying our best :)

I am definitely interested in this....I bought one and it wasn't super secure around the wafer and had a big gap. Your competitors have a hard disk around the appliance (not my current one) so how does that compare to yours.

We do not have a hard plastic disk in our products, but instead use a firm but flexible material to apply the pressure to the hernia and keep it supported. The fabrics we use are also much more comfortable to the touch and last longer than other peristomal hernia belts. Since our belts are also custom made based on the specific measurements that you would be providing, the shape and size of our products are going to be more specifically suited to your body and appliance, which also makes for a more comfortable fit and feel!

@@STEALTHBELT sounds good ...the one I have now is Velcro to go around pouch and just not as secure as NuHope. Couple more questions.... Do we have to have a nurse call in and measure or can we call ourselves....and still submit ourselves to insurance? Did you guys have something running for testers ...I applied but apparently didn't get chosen.

@@ginamarie2088 You can get help from a clinician, but it's not necessary. You can get the measurements yourself, or call us directly to get assistance with the process. The hernia Belt measurement worksheet is on this page: www.stealthbelt.com/custom-ostomy-solutions Regardless of how you do it, you'll have to call us to place an order for a custom product. We always double check measurements on these! As far as being an ambassador, we only take on so many each quarter. You can apply again in a couple months!
