Drone pilot here , just a heads up if you don't have your part 107 license ( drone FAA stuff) They can fine you $10,000 +. So don't get screwed over, cause you're the first person that will get caught since you're posting.

I am watching from Whitehorse Yukon. Hope u enjoy it here when u get here. Just a couple of things to note, our Walmart is small, no fresh food. You cannot camp overnight there either, our Walmart is cranky. I do see a lot of other RV'ers parking in Superstore or Save-on Foods. Also, everything here closes at like 10 pm. Some restaurants close later but, we are pretty remote. Once u hit the Alaska hwy, just be a bit prepared, there will be areas of no cell reception. Other than that, it is beautiful. Have a safe trip.

If you find you are looking for a place to camp for the night, you can park at Yukon University, just call security and ask them if you are able to. They usually allow it as long as they know you are there. If you do, just watch for bears, we usually have a couple hanging around.😊

I do not often comment, but as someone that has spent a lot of time in Alaska all over the state, you may enjoy taking a detour south to go down to Whittier and possibly even run over to Homer or Seward before taking the trip north to Fairbanks. The peninsula is really beautiful this time of year and Whitter is fun, good fishing and also have to drive through a train tunnel to get in there.

One of the weird things you will find is that cell service in rural Canada is way better than the USA. They have laws that force more comprehensive coverage. But you better get a Canadian SIM card. Holy cow do they charge an arm and a leg for roaming using a US number up there! I did it once by accident and it cost me almost $600 for a half a day of cell phone use.

Really excited to see the rest of your journey! Please look into the rules for flying drones both in Canada and the US. In the US you'd need to get your Part 107 since you're posting the videos on a KZbin channel that you make money from. I'm in the US and have been studying for the Part 107 exam so I can do this for some fun projects. There are some pretty hefty fines if you break rules since they consider drones aircraft, would hate to see you get into trouble or fined for something while flying your drone.

Great video Ryan, I’m currently in Whitehorse, (broken down with my travel trailer). I drove up to the Arctic Ocean on the Dempster Hwy.. Make sure you stop in Watson Lake at the Sign Post Forest right on the highway. Put up a sticker or a sign. There’s almost a 100,000 signs there from all over the world. Also, stop at the Liard River Hot Springs. You can camp there as well. From Edmonton heading North it is all good paved roads except at Stewart Crossing they are doing some road construction and some of it is a bit rough. I just drove 4,700 miles one way on this trip. Enjoy your journey, the scenery is fantastic. Keep doing the great work you do!!

Hi Ryan, when you pass through Fort St John, just after Dawson Creek, if you have time you, you should use your new drone to check out the Site C dam being built by BC Hydro, it’s almost finished now. Also lots of cool hikes & trails in Tumbler Ridge area but that’s kind of out of the way. Also in Fort St John, when you’re on the Alaska highway coming into town if you turn left at traffic lights (100st) where Wendy’s is and stay on 100st south all the way until it dead ends, there’s a great view point of the peace river! One last thing if you have time to grab a coffee stop at “Caffeination Station” they have a location in Taylor BC & Charlie Lake BC and also make videos. Have a great trip to the north!

This is going to be fun to watch. Regarding your water filter: I'd grab a sharpie and write on it the date you installed, that way you have a reference point. Either that, or put the "expiration" date of the filter in your phone's calendar, with a notification for the week before the due date.

Since we have passed the shortest day of the year, I don't think you will run into much real darkness for the remainder of your trip. It will be more twilight and once you get to Fairbanks you should witness the sun coming down to the horizon and then head back up. That is really noticeable in Kotzebue but you might get to see it from Fairbanks. maybe a bit abbreviated though! I wish I could recommend places for you but it has just been too long since I drove the highway and too much has changed. The one benefit you will have will be that the road should be paved all the way and I did not have that privilege the number of times I drove the highway. Good luck and have fun seeing everything! I look forward to your videos!
