Airports change runways direction because taking off and landing into the wind can be done at lower speeds and in less time. Simply put, when taking off, a headwind will create more lift. When landing, winds at your nose will also act as a speed break by creating drag against the airframe to slow the aircraft down.

Love your videos Will! Planes land and take off into the wind because it’s much safer too, a tailwind speeds the plane up and can cause it to be unstable on final approach, a head wind creates more lift on takeoff so enables a lower take off speed so less fuel and on landing creates drag helping to slow the plane down do planes love headwinds when close to the ground 👍😀

When I stayed in Horley during the summer of 1984, aged 14, my bedroom in the family house had a direct view of all the planes only moments from landing at Gatwick. It was a constant parade of gigantic 747s from all over the world, and absolutely fascinating for a kid from the western North Carolina mountains!

You were right about wind being a reason for airports changing runway directions. Airplanes takeoff and land into the wind, so they change direction of takeoffs and landings accordingly. With the parking lot ticket, you will be billed in the mail most likely. The ticket pairs with your license plate. When you leave the cameras read your license plate. The computer then calculates whether you stayed shorter, longer or the exact time. it then uses the address that corresponds with the license plate, to send the bill. Don't worry, you'll have to pay one way or another. Nice video Will. Safe travels and stay blessed.

Great video as always. I’ve camped in my estate car in that car park, but due to my flight being delayed until the following day. Not quite as comfortable as Mary, but better than trying to sleep in the terminal building. Fortunately I had my Duvalay with me (staying with friends in London on my return, sofa surfing) so could have been worse. I parked under the double layer bit so I could leave the windows cracked open for a bit of ventilation without worrying about it raining overnight - it’s also a bit quieter if planes are arriving/departing but not so great a view.

I've stealth camped at Gatwick in my van after my friends done it. It's surprisingly well known. I received a fine though. I had the exact same issue where the barriers wouldn't let me in. Pulled a ticket. Ate and slept in my van. I left the car park the following morning. The barriers went up. I thought hey, cool, it recognises my plate and knows I paid already. A week later, I received a £500 fine for failing to pay. It took me three weeks to get it sorted.

@@ImDBatty1 I went through some automated bull. I ended up going through Citizens Advice who were able to get me through to a human. Twenty emails and eight phone calls later, they agreed to cancel the fine and believe I paid while lying about not receiving payment. I had to send them a statement proving the money was taken. I had a final call back from a manager or someone higher up. They said they took payment for the night of parking. They won't push for more money.

your correct, plane landing from North Or South depending on head and tail wind, so if you get more head wind from 1 particular side then plane tends to head somewhat into that direction, so they can approach runway at a lower speed landing speeds than normal (headwind helps alot when landing , tail wind doesnt)

Hello Will, Today I tried your recepie. You had mixed spice herbs. As I do not know what mix that is I used Sage (fresh), Tyme and basil (both dry). It worked out fine. As thank you I have another chicken recepie for you in return. Chicken with parmesan and mushrooms ingredients, Chicken fillet or thigh fillet Spice mix "It's incredible". (Can be replaced with leamon pepper, salt and garlic powder) Fresh field mushrooms 227gr Garlic cloves 4 pcs Flour 1 tbsp Chicken broth 1.2dl Whipping cream 2.4dl (double cream in the UK?) Fresh spinach To taste (approx. 1 bag) Grated parmesan approx. 113 gr Oil and butter for frying Work description, Season the meat on all sides with the spice mixture. Fry in oil. If everything doesn't fit at once, fry in batches. About 2 minutes of frying time on each side until you get a golden brown frying surface. Set the chicken aside. Fry the mushrooms in the same pan and then set aside. Add butter to the pan and fry the chopped garlic cloves for about 1 minute. Add the flour. When the flour is fried in the butter, the chicken broth is added. Stir until you get a smooth sauce. Then add the cream and stir. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. Add grated parmesan. Simmer on low heat and while stirring until the cheese dissolves in the sauce. Add chopped spinach and continue to simmer for a while. Mix in the fried mushrooms. Add the fried chicken and turn the pieces in the sauce so that they are covered in sauce. Cook pasta and mix with the sauce with chicken. I normally do not include the spinach but it probably would work fine. For the spice mix I use leamon pepper, garlic powder and salt. Most often I add chopped onion. Try it. I think that it is very good. I got it from a fellow on KZbin. Good luck.
