I love how paranoid Steve gets. Think about it. To get rumbled a motorist driving at probably 70mph about 100 metres away would have to spot a green hammock under a green tarp behind a camo net in dense forest through a 1 metre gap. All while driving looking at the road in front of them not looking for anything by the sign. After all that they would then have to decide to stop and do something about it. You're fine Steve!

Hey Steve I've got a crazy idea. Some of your meal creations sound really spot on. Ever think of maybe compiling them into a cook book with some stories about how you came across the recipe? I'm a betting man and I bet they would sell. I'd buy one no doubt. Proceeds could go to help the good people of B.C. or whoever you want. Just an idea.

What you want to do is sauté the cabbage in the butter, garlic and thyme before you add the broth. Add the broth last actually. It will make a big difference I just figured out that i can cut beef jerky up smaller and soften it in boiling water, then add rice and spices and you get like a fried rice that's really tastey. Esp if you add curry powder and green onion but really, just terryaki or soy sauce is fine

Great video Steve! I have been homeless many times since 1995; after ending up in a hospital; violins playing now. So, I wish I would have seen this before all those times I was homeless. I was laughed at, made fun of, etc. My favorite street camping item was a tarp. I didn't have a car. And the tarp folded nicely in my back pack. I could stay clean with the tarp underneathe me while trying to sleep with one eye open. Hardest part of it was having to use a ladies room around 3 a.m. YOUR videos are heart felt! THANK YOU👍

I do my own hammock camping and I can say without a doubt that if weight and / or space isn't a huge concern, a trusty wool blanket can be a lifesaver. Especially in wet conditions. I would also say one of the most important bits of kit for cool and cold weather hammocking is an underquilt. No question. Worth the investment.

I'm a drifter. About 4 years ago, I was in Idaho Falls, ID (beautiful town). It was early March, so the nights were still fairly cold. I was there a little over two weeks. The entire time, I camped under a large evergreen (spruce, I think... ?), the branches went all the way to the ground. But, just beyond the outer branches, closer to the trunk, it was fairly open and spacious. I spent about 30 minutes chopping down dead branches from the interior, and clearing out debris, both of which I used to camouflage myself. I was about 20 feet from a busy downtown road. This video reminded me if that experience. I had a little concealed fire in a coffee can, a tarp to keep the drizzling rain, falling leaves and bird poo off me... lol. There was a train track behind me, and must have been a yard nearby. Each morning the same guy would walk the track, and we'd talk for a few minutes. Share stories about life on the road. It was a great time. Good memory. Thanks for reminding me. Love your channel. You'd have made a good drifter.
