I had a semi permanent stealth camp behind the 7-11 near me back when I was a teenager, so this made me a little nostalgic for those days. I had a tent with camo netting over it, and from twenty feet away, even I had trouble spotting it. I'd set it up in May and take it down in October. I'd use it three or four times a week. Unfortunately, like so many other things from when I was a kid, it's gone now. Just stumbled across this channel and I'll be back.

My mom's dad was a boy scout leader back in the 40s and 50s. When I was a kid we lived in the country. One day my mom took me and my older brother into the woods...(no not what you think 😆) she built a wiki up around a tree. We ate lunch hung out for a bit then back to the house. Later on she built a make shift shelter out of saplings and coveted it with plastic. She camped in it for one night while I slept in my pup tent. Fast forward to just a few years ago prior to the covid years I built a similar shanty shack much the same way and covered it with a trap and plastic. Fun times

Hammocks have hated me since a kid.🤣I’m 44 now and because of you I decided to order a hammock for my get home bag/Bob bag etc and I think gosh we got the same brand and color!
