The first time I went out camping on my own I had hot dogs. Nice and easy. And I had mustard and ketchup packets from McShitties. Back then I used to like my hot dogs boiled till they split. Now I prefer them on a grill over a camp fire or a stick stove. You should get yourself a double layer hammock so you could put an air mat in between. It doesn’t move much and it gives you added warmth from beneath and a more comfortable sleep. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.

I stealth camped Monday night. Dd hammock, snugpack cocoon, mozzi net, quilt and camo tarp. In the night the mist rolled in then heavy condensation dripped from the trees made it like sleeping in a Brazilian rain forest. Great

First meal at 15 years old camping was Tinned Burgers in Gravy and instant mash. Nowt wrong with pot noodles though either. Great standby grub. First tent was an "A" frame style. Progressed to domes and stayed there. However, I'm away this weekend Friday night to Sunday, albeit on a site with bogs etc. I know I will ache when I get home, so, Hammocks are starting to look like a good alternative, especially with the tarp set ups you Scott & Mick can come up with. Cheers.

Don't know if it was stealth camping but when I was a teenager in the early 80's we were one night short on our hotel booking and so slept in a bush in Margate's Winter Gardens right next to the amusements.. Can't say it was a quiet night

To be able to be lightweight and stealthy was what made me get a hammock in the first place, in my home test runs I have found that I definately need a mat! I need the cushioning. I am happy to do a day out chilling without a mat but if I am going to sleep at all I 100% need one.

I use an underblanket and if colder use a thicker one or two. My preference is hammock camping and you can sleep in really rough and steep ground and not as obvious that you are staying the night. When you set up depends on the location. My first meal as a young kid was before Pot Noodles, it was probably a tin of Beans and Sausages. You have really learnt a lot over the years and certainly with hammocks. Keep the videos coming.👍

I've been experimenting with hammock stealth, just lately. Pretty successful, so far. But, I don't move into my selected spot until at least 30 minutes after sunset ... sometimes much later. And, I'm gone with the first light. Problem is that I always get wet from the evening and morning dews, as I tramp thru the undergrowth. It's a good discipline to set up in the darkness, I think. Makes you very careful about every item that you have in your hands. Tiny spirit stove that is easy to screen.

My first meals were butties and soup. Love a good stealth camp. That's proper stealth styli that Dan. Red light torch or green filter for camping stealthy and not ultra bright. As the light goes down into dusk I cook before dark, I might use noodles or just something like Hot shots and or butties. I'm getting a smaller tarp/basha too, but have the nets as well.

I find mats are a nuisance because you have to rearrange it carefully every time you get out for a pee or whatever, sometimes it shifts as you’re getting back on, with the under blanket, once it’s on. Also, if you have your knees up, resting against the side of the hammock, they can feel cold because the mats not against them, whereas the under blanket can be pulled right up to the edge of the hammock.

Recently found your channel, and am really enjoying going through a load of your videos. 👍 Especially enjoyed this one, as I have (stealth) hammocked since the late 70s - after a marine friend of my Dad gave me one of his DIY ones. Almost any dark coloured hammock can be stealthy in the UK, just because the human eye doesn’t seem to recognise the shape as easily as a tent. Have had tons of adventures over the years, due to the much better visibility (vs tents). Especially some REALLY close encounters with animals - including a young deer nuzzling up against the hammock once. Tip: just keep still and let nature come to you... Have regularly observed (and sometimes scared the crap out of) trainee soldiers practicing woodland patrol near where I live, spooked amorous couples when they have got too close (and enthusiastic🤣), and even filmed game poachers on a friends land. But normally I just do it to de-stress and chillout in nature.

I like your stealth camping videos Daniel but I'm afraid your cooking seems to have taken a dive. Army ration packs and now Pot Noodle, surely a small Trangia or the like could have been used to boil water at least. Get yourself some proper grub like you used to, you know it makes sense.
