A stealth camp? I had to look twice, I thought I clicked a Steve Wallis video🤣 What you have done with the cot Luke is VERY cool, you have taken the 18 wheeler sleeper and sized it down to fit YOUR truck. In the shots of it, it looks just like a sleeper cab, just smaller.

I have a ford f150 with an extended cab and an extra long bed with a camper shell. I use the back seat of the cab for storage and in the bed I have added a long cot,2 tables, a stove,a propane heater, and a fan to create a simple but comfortable sleeping space. The windows of the camper shell are limo tinted to increase privacy. I call it my mobile man cave lol. At 71, it is a lot easier to climb in the back of the truck than to set up a tent! Plus since there is absolutely nothing added to the outside,it looks like a plain old work truck, which makes it much easier to stealth camp.

Luke I have the same cot, thanks to your review. I drive a F150 and have a cap on the truck bed. I actually have my cot back there and it is awesome. I camp in the Adirondack mountains in the off season and absolutely love it. I have been doing it for a while now and sometimes wake up thinking I’m home. It’s that comfortable!!! I’m a 75 year old female and absolutely love the outdoors. Many of my purchasers have been because of your reviews. You are always dead on! Thank you for you and your channel!!!! Be safe out there-

Wait- this is not Steve Wallis channel? Stealth camping.. Talking about past friends. Back when I was young I remember going to a Kmart to buy a Matchbox car. I remember thinking it was a long bike ride but it was worth having a new Matchbox. Back home my friend and I started playing with the new cars. First we had two, then there was four, then six and ended with 8. I bought one or two. My at the time friend bought one. He stole the rest. I was a loss for words.

New subber. I didn’t realize it at the time, but my family grew up nomads. Dad didn’t like staying anywhere for too long. We often camped out of our station wagon. Sleeping out of it. Eating out of it. We had some trying times to be sure. But we also had some very unique experiences. Dad was all about stopping by the wayside to see something interesting, swim in a creek, have a picnic, have s’mores by a campfire. Once, (this was in the 60’s) we got to some sort of check center set up in the road. A tiny hut with a man inside, who was some sort of military man. He had very explicit instructions for the next six miles of road. No cameras. No stopping. It takes exactly x amount of time to get to the other checkpoint going x mph, which you must drive. If we stopped, didn’t reach the other checkpoint in time, someone would be sent out. If you have an emergency, do not under any circumstances get out. He then did a check of our vehicle. We got back in, he started a timer, and we proceeded forward. The first crazy thing was a boiling river. It was literally boiling with steam coming off it as it wound its way through its course. The next thing is both sides of the road was very forested. Heavy, thick forest. One squared area, the trees were petrified. Another square area, the trees were gorgeous and flourishing. Another squared area, the trees were stumps…the soil was ashy and smoking. It went on like this until we got to the next checkpoint where our vehicle was again inspected to make sure we didn’t have any contraband from the area. We had a lot of crazy experiences on the road. I guess that’s why I enjoy these vlogs so much.

I could share some stories. In 1992 some friends and I did a tour with the Grateful Dead. We took off at the end of May and don’t come home until the end of August. The entire summer was camping out of a VW Vanagon and sleeping in pup tents. That was an experience! Some of the people I met will stick with me until my last days.

I have slept a few Walmarts in Virginia, Maine, and few other states I don't remember. The Ellsworth Maine Walmart is super freaking big. I went in and talked to mangers to see where I should park and his many days could I stay and would I be safe since I was alone. They were super nice. That Walmart has four sides to it for parking and the entries into store and another in auto section. They also told me not to worry about being safe there entire store inside and out had thousands of cameras and people watching them at all times. This was way before plandemic. It closed at twelve since it was a small place. Lots of people came to that area tho cause its not but seven miles from the coast.

I was stealth camping across the country in 2020 and 21... Many Walmart will no longer allow you to Park and sleep... Your setup is great. However I have a 2002 to Chevy S10 pickup with extended cab. I traveled with my dog. I removed the passenger seat and used memory foam mattress topper making a bed where the passenger seat used to be. That was awesome. Worked well for me and when I stopped traveling, I had the seat bolted back into the passenger side. Blessings sent!

I truck camp in the backseat of my f150 very frequently. I put both seats all the way forward and lay down the backseats and put bins in the areas behind the front seats so it makes a level platform then i have an air mattress. Blackout window shades and a small fan make it perfect

Bazaar! Absolutely lol. But I guess he's having a good time jamming to his tunes and not hurting anyone. 😂

Pretty crazy that you can stretch out in the back of your truck! I have a 2500 Silverado, and my truck is not wide enough for me to stretch out. I am 5'11", and have tried sleeping in the backseat while on overnight excursions. On a side note, my wife works in the mental health field. Truly sad the amount of mental illness that we have in our country right now! If people only truly knew just how many mentally unstable people that walk amongst us every day, you would all carry conceal! Stay safe Luke and thanks for posting the vid.

You definitely need some window coverings and a sun visor for the front. I am also surprised you don't have earplugs. They are lifesaver.

I lived in my 1988 chevy pickup reg cab for almost 2 yrs. Im 5' 1 1/2". Wish i would have had a cab like yours. At times i wish i still lived in it. Living in government housing and all their rules in and lack of taking care of things is worse at times.

Luke, you are a whole lot braver than I am. Not sleeping in the truck but eating Taco Bell and then sleeping in the truck! At 6'2" with a crew cab Taco, I would have to contort myself to fit back there. Looks like a good adventure even with the singing dude but that makes for an adventure. Thanks for the video, stay safe and God bless.

When traveling cross country I’ve always preferred sleeping at rest areas. In rest areas there’s really no reason for people to wander around unless they are walking their dogs or are up to no good. Also I’ve noticed that a lot of law enforcement patrol rest areas in the middle of the night. As goofy as it sounds I always sleep fully dressed with my boots on.
