Tbh , I love the design phase more than the battling phase. Like all the small decisions , what you need against what you fight , nitpicking , stuff like all this pre-battle preparations are pretty cool to watch. Also first time I see a double sidebyside turret system , nice.

Something I learned when doing battleships: Doing a Front turret/turrets, moderate to high speed, high bow armour/deck armour and just steaming straight into the enemy has resulted in a win every time, even in a 1v3 same erra

Hey Stealth, as others may have pointed out I think your battleship suffered a fate very similar to that of HMS Hood. When I looked back at the torpedoe hits, I noticed that the first torpedo hit almost exactly under the 18 inch triple turret. About 5 seconds or so later the 20 inch turret just in front of the 18 incher is ripped off. So it seems like the torpedo set fire to the 18 inch magazine, but the magazine fire wasn't violent enough to explode the ship outright and rip the turret off. Instead, the 18 inch magazine fire burst through into the 20 inch magazine and caused a caused it to detonate, ripping the bow of the ship off. I don't know if ultimate admiral: dreadnoughts has a damage model system that detailed or not, but its pretty interesting how similar this incident looks to the infamous HMS hood explosion. Also it would be interesting to see more visible damage from catastrophic magazine detonations. Its cool seeing turrets fly off but I want to see the bows and sterns ripped off and hulls twisting and breaking up.

Another good video, with the usual high caliber game play that has come to be expected of a UAD video. I personally don't mind the video lengths as they are good to listen to and most of us involved with this game are fully aware that this game takes time. Watching you build this gigantic beast of a ship it made me think of unique ship builds. I remember you've done a KGV video, but I was wondering if you'd ever contemplate doing a Nevada Class build or WWI Italian BB design a la Conte di Cavour. How does the game treat same caliber but different rifle amount guns?

The poll, I assume, was for the whole of KZbin, and doesn’t take into account channel specific content. Other KZbinrs that make Ultimate Admiral videos probably have vids of similar length around the 60 minute mark. While it’s good to try and draw in more viewers from different audiences, I think you should stick to the main demographic of people who watch Ultimate Admiral content. You usually take time building your ships so you can think up a design or try to match the requested designs as closely as possible. Personally, I enjoy watching your building process and would hate to see it shortened. But I’m just 1 subscriber that doesn’t have a problem with longer videos. No clue how the rest of your fanbase feels. I enjoy the longer vids though.

Love the videos! I find the larger German hulls really limiting. You are at best going to get something like that with 3 forward turrets and more likely just get super Bismarck over and over. Even the IJN super hull isn’t what it was before if you need two funnels.

Since you had no secondaries, could you have removed the 6'inch armour on the secondaries? About the video length: I'd say to cut down on the battle phase for the most part. Focus on the highlights of the battle, ships sinking, the identification and the other notable things that happen in the battle.

Some things that I think you should consider about video length. Firstly I watch about everything in 2x speed. It's possible the average your seeing is 14 minutes is because many other people have most likely have been doing the same. Also, I have been experimenting with speeding up my videos by 10% when I edit them. Unless I told people they would most likely never had known I had done it. It's a great way to shave a few minutes off the entire length and still be able to show all the content in it.
