i appreciate that when styling the tie skirt, you recognize that the trend is oversized blazers but you're totally right that they cropped blazer is the proportion it needs. it honestly turned out super cute :)

I really love how your influences are EVERYTHING. You know current trends, past trends, film & TV references, anime, musicians’ looks…you just really study fashion from every angle and can wear SO many styles because of it. It also helps so many of us who wouldn’t have discovered certain things otherwise. (The K-pop music is really not for me, but the outfits are amazing and I wouldn’t have heard of or seen any of those bands without you!)

I love straight jeans just cuz their very practical, comfy, and easy to style. Skinny jeans just so uncomfortable and for me make my legs look even skinnier so pretty unflattering for me, but i do agree they can be easy to style tho and look good in certain outfits and on some people.

Skinny jeans are great to pair with big chunky boots and looser fitting tops. Wide legs pants are better with crop tops or tight fitting tops. I think both have their place within your closet and should never be considered "out of fashion". But perhaps this is just my Zillennial ass talking since I feel like I exist in both worlds lol.

Unpopular I guess in that I still unabashedly like most of those items! I think it’s 100% normal to not like styles or items on a personal level, everyone has their own likes and dislikes! But I have always dressed however the heck I want regardless of what’s “popular”, and feel sorry for people who allow someone else’s arbitrary tastes to decide what’s unstylish or not for them. Genuinely sad for people to think they can’t enjoy what they like. It should not be normalized to declare certain styles are off limits or uncool now when they were average or cool two minutes ago and will be popular again soon enough. Some things get over-saturated maybe, but if you still like it, just keep wearing it! I love that you keep doing you and are fabulously fashionable in your own personal, lovely way. No other fashion content gets me hyped about wearing the things I love as much as your videos 🙌💕 I’m glad you’re out here just rocking your own style and hopefully giving people courage to just wear the dang galaxy print leggings if they love ‘em 😂

I think the construction of tie skirts has a lot to do with their hated reputation. The quality of the sewing, the ties used, and the cut of the skirt can have a huge impact on the way the piece looks in the finished outfit. Back when they were A Thing in the early 2000s, I knew someone who spent the better part of a year scouring thrift shops and yard sales for ties in burgundy and brown, then made them into a tea length skirt. It was the right color palette for her wardrobe, she spent a lot of time thinking about how to arrange them, she took her time with construction, and she made sure the length was right for her. It ended up being a versatile piece for her specific wardrobe.

I think that as the emo kids of the late 2000's to early 2010's start to grow up, a new generation of alternative music/culture (and a general decline in the socioeconomic state of the world) will spawn a new batch of little emos and we will see skinniy jeans become mainstream again!!🧘♀️

I'd be so curious on your take of "How to Create Your Own Iconic Character Style" with ideas similar to a capsule wardrobe and numbered items (example 4 bottoms and 5 tops and 2 jackets) but more fun and random and creative. Kind of formula guide to making an iconic memorable style like the way fictional characters have. Thank you love your videos hehe

I think that the main issue with skinny jeans/ disco pants right now is that layering is very in style which is why i think it works with textured materials or accents (zips etc) or chunky boots with lacing (the layering aspect is also why I think one leg tucked into the boot and one out looks appealing).

They asking the wrong people, I love my skinny jeans and shall never let them go. 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I have quite a few wide pants now, too, but if I want to look nice, I default skinny jeans. Because you throw on an oversized top of any kind, and it instantly elevates the look versus baggy on baggy. (And yes, I know tight tops and baggy bottoms are a thing and they are CUTE, but in the summer, or with the wrong bra/desire to skip the bra, or basically any other opportunity I may sweat, I HATE that fabric sticking to my skin and bunching in my pits. Like, there are so many more opportunities for a tight top to go wrong than a tight bottom. At that point, I’m usually wearing shorts anyway, and I’d much rather a baggy top.)
