Steam Deck and Nreal Air Glasses

Absolutely lovely skin, friend, my compliment! I do have and love the Steam Deck as well as the NREAL Air goggles, together with the NREAL adapter. It´s an absolute blast to play games on the Deck with this config. Thanks for sharing!

Hey, I appreciate the tips. I use the deck docked a lot and connect via HDMI to monitors or the Nreal Air glasses. I think my adapter might have come broken. When I plug the Nreal glasses directly into the deck, everything works fine. When I dock the deck and connect the glasses via the adapter into the dock, the video displayed in the glasses disconnects in a few seconds and the deck screen turns back on and shows video. I can't keep the video on in the glasses and the adapter green power light is always off after the video switches back to the deck. When it first connects, there is a single green slow flashing dot on the adapter. But as soon as the glasses lose video, the green flashing light turns off. I am using the JSAUX dock and the original power supply the deck came with plugged into the dockto keep it charged. I have also tried different HDMI cables and that does not fix it. I'm thinking I have a bad adapter? Or it's not getting power? IDK Have you experienced this issue?

Thank you for letting me know that this setup works. However you are still not charging the Nreal HDMI adapter while doing this. I assume it will run out of power even with the steam deck being charged. Please let me know if I am wrong about this.

I have, realized after the video that the adapter is not charging therefore I have a follow up video with an adapter that will charge the Steam Deck and be able to use the Air at the same time. Thanks for your feedback Olivia!

Please, I need your help. The glasses work just fine in gaming mode, but when I switch to desktop mode there’s a fancy wallpaper with two orange triangles and it doesn’t show my display. I’ve tried to Google it and there’s nothing at all. How is that possible that no one has ever encountered this?

You dont have to do all these steps fyi. Get a dock with usb c out power delivery and display thats it.

Man those glasses look really nice but I really don’t wanna be tied down to so many components for the charging. Is the text sharp enough to do any work with them? I know in VR the text still kind of sucks

Thai was just a workaround, to charge and use the Steam Deck until the adapter arrives, admin a Nreal FB group and we were discussing how to charge with dock and play. This actually doesn’t work after I thought about it. The adopter is powered so that’s why it’s work as shown. The image in these are clear enough to work and feel not like in VR at all. I don’t like the feeling of being in long sessions so this tech is the way to go for me. Again, the image is crispy and clear, the blacks and whites and vibrant and deep for AR. They also come with Dark out shades for even better image quality. Way better than Quest 2 image, no pixelation at all

You can use the Steam Deck together with the goggles without the adapter, just plug it directly into the Steam Deck and off you go. There is just one downside with this config: The NREAL Air goggles use the power from the Steam Deck battery - not much, just around 1.5 to 2 watts, nearly equally to use the regular Steam Deck screen.

You mean is it a hologram? Its a giant screen floating in front of you in your space. Unless you have blackout cover on. Then its the same without seeing your space.

@@claytonyoung1351 I mean, is the screen static as in it's in a stuck position and moves with you when you turn your head or something. Or if its like in VR headsets that you can place a screen in a specific spot also change the size, and even if you move your head it remains only in that spot where you set it.
