Note: 1. After the new EmuDeck update ( April 26th 2023) The net.rpcs3.RPCS3 file new location: home/deck/.local/share/flatpak/exports/bin/ we still need to remove the two % symbols from the Arguments line as I show in the video 2. if you are using Appimage RPCS3 ( most likely you are doing standalone RPCS3 ) in this case. There is no need to change the program tab information(at 02:16) just leave everything by default. then follow the rest of the video, you will get PS3 games to show up in the EMualtion Station.

Just as an update for anyone going through this, just incase you're confused like me, you don't have to go through these steps anymore, the shortcuts work natively now, just add shortcut to desktop & place in ps3 roms folder

Or just change the folder name and just add “.ps3” at the end of it. “Demon’s Souls USA.ps3”for example. ES DE will read the game and it will pop up 😊 make sure to change the emulator alternative to “ RPCS3 Directory Standalone” or else it won’t play it 😊

@@ED4T The location is actually much different than your pinned description if you are using RPCS3 Appimage. However, the good news is that you just use the Application image location that populates when your shortcut is made through RPCS3 and just follow the rest of the guide (delete one % on each side and make sure the shortcut is in the correct ROM folder.) If you're still stuck, which I have been for hours, I figured out how to fix the error code: Invalid file or folder. You go to RPCS3, manage game patches and update the patch for the game. Then it works in EmuDeck.

For anyone who might need it. rather than the Program and Argument bars, for some reason I had one bar which just said "Command." If you enter this command it works. "/home/deck/.local/share/flatpak/exports/bin/net.rpcs3.RPCS3" --no-gui "%RPCS3_GAMEID%:BLUS31159" Maybe it was just me though. Thank you for the tutorial!@@ED4T

Hey, could you upload a full emulation station setup guide tutorial? Especially to to the people who already have their emulated games installed via emudeck. Also, for some reason when I install a pkg rpcs3 game, it would tell me "cannot add shortcut(s)", I am able to play the ps3 game via steam gaming mode, but cannot see the image nor the proper title of the game :/ (this was done via emudeck).

NHL14 won’t run well only has 10 fps at maximum. There is no way to tweet the performance to 30.

@@ED4T Thx, it is a shame EA sports forgot NHL pc players! If you are interested in playing NHL on steam deck i advise NHL 9 (ps3) run at 30fps without crashing, NHL10 run 30 but crashes alot and NHL11 has low FPSs and is unplayable on deck

However, I am a little unclear about how I'm supposed to keep my Steam Library organized with EmulationStation since my PS2 and PS1 games are being integrated directly with my Steam Library rather than only appearing in EmulationStation. You don’t have to add those games or emulators to Steam Library. Just add the Emulation Station/ES DE. Only pars ES DE when in Steam Rom Manager, leave everything else unmarked. Also let me know if you are having trouble with the RPCS3. There’s a way faster less complicated way than this video 😊

Don’t use isos they make things complicated. Just search the web for games in FOLDER 📁 versions and add “.ps3 at the end of it. Emulation Station will then read the game and it will appear. Make sure to change the emulator alternate to “RPCS3 DIRECTORY STANDALONE “ 😊 for the game to play

I wish I could find in the emulator where to set hot keys but it doesn't look like there is a place to do that.

Try reset ps3 emulator configuration from EumDeck.

@@ED4T finally fixed it, but it took a long time, don't know if its the right way tho Had to go into rom manager, select the parser for iso, and select community setting for it, then select the paths for the rom and executable When in steam game mode, selecting demon soul it shows the rpcs3 ui and I have to select the game I want to play as like in desktop mode but it works, don't know if its as efficient though

@ED4T I did. That's actually how I was able to get the roms to actually show up in emulationstation. Worked fine for a little while. Now it don't work from emulationstation. Games only boot from the rcps3 emulator or from the desktop.mode.

Or you can literally just change the game folder name by adding “.ps3” at the end of it and changing the alternative emulator to “RPCS3 Directory Standalone”. Then Emulationstation will read the game. You don’t have to do all this extra stuff 😂
