Steam Deck is in a Big Trouble!

Steam Deck is in big trouble because Windows handheld devices can now be equipped with a SteamOS-like operating system called Bazzite for free. We need Steam Deck 2 asap! Like and Subscribe for more videos.

@@TrueEasyTech that's assuming you can get it to properly work. I've heard it can be troublesome to get it to work and even when it does, it doesn't work as well as it would on the steam deck (from what i've heard). you're free to correct me, but while researching this is what i've read.

@@TrueEasyTech It still won't be as seamless as the Deck. I mean, I hope other companies start catching up, it'll make Valve have to innovate. Can't beat the Deck for simple pick up and play right now though.

​@@bpound4139 I have ally and I never experienced any problems with it. To be honest, I don't even understand why people have trouble with wimdows. Even a 7-year-old can operate it without any issues. People are just exaggerating. To be honest I don't know what the problem with windows that people are complaining.

Dealing with Windows is a hassle? Compared to SteamOS? Where you have to CONSTANTLY fight the OS just to get stuff running? From third party launchers, proton crashes, anti cheat problems, etc. Windows is SOOOOO much less of a hassle. I wish Valve would release the Windows drivers for the OLED already. Lazy bums letting us wait for half a year now.

@@m4ko288I agree so much with this, it’s actually ironic how the thing stopping me from getting a steam deck instead is cause of the os. The fact that I can’t even play some of my games without having to go through such a huge roundabout to play is just so inconvenient..

@@Zack-cy9vc Yeah and even if you put in the hassle - its missing drivers right now. So no audio from the speakers and no bluetooth. Steam Deck OLED is really the WORST portable handheld because of this right now. Because even if you install windows to get games like CoD / Fortnite / etc running - you will have no sound unless you bring (non-bluetooth) headphones along. Its ABSURD that even half a year after release there are no audio drivers. Absolute GARBAGE tier support from Valve.

Price being an advantage is dubious considering the Rog Ally Z1 is $399 on the US asus store right now. I don't think the SteamOS is nearly a game changer people make it out to be, going by the Steam survey the percentage of people on SteamOS is tiny and decreasing (it would register as Arch as that's what's SteamOS is based on), presumably due to a ton of people who gave up troubleshooting games that don't have real linux support, or simply installed Windows on it immediately upon acquisition. The problem I see is that the form factor of the deck makes it not a very convenient portable, giving instead a more premium experience, an area where it lags behind the likes of the Ally and Legion while a cheaper and smaller handheld that has a lower cost x64 AGPU would cannibalize the other end of the market, offering a good enough performance for retro and indie games, and the Loki Zero proved it can be done despite short lived.

In my country the earliest ally is 520$ and ally x is 1100$ both they price made steam deck lcd vr looks free even though steam out usa is +200-400$ too and the limited edition it will had price maybe more than ally x because Amazon use it like if sd LE was a living dinosaur fossil so you Will give them anything to had even though some people love the gloss 512gb steam oled over the anti glare on LE

Actually the Steam deck oled screen gives feeling better than lenovo go and asus rog ally about the Steam deck emulator on windows wasn't same as steamOS on steam deck

Actually ally oled tomorrow and ally 2 after mouth The reason who made steam deck loved because he will never made you feel if you had steam oled will see( steam oled lite) tomorrow and valve said steam deck 2 will be after oled in two or 3 years after they had real technology not just close updates like now we feel a bit ps4 and ps5 not huge different in 3d graphics

There's one thing that will always make Steam Deck more approachable to an average consumer - price. Most people don't live in the richest countries in which spending like $800 for a handheld console is not a big deal. On the other hand Steam Deck is almost at the price of Nintendo Switch and Valve can almost sell it at the loss, because of the Steam preinstalled. Just look how well Quest 2 sold just because of it's price. If Valve could make Steam Deck even cheaper, they definitely should not be in any rush for Steam Deck 2, since you can still play most of the games you want to play on the go. And sure, Bazzite is great, but it's not SteamOS. SteamOS makes sure to not let you break your system (for example by blocking pacman by default). Bazzite is on the other hand just an Arch Linux folk with SteamOS layer on top of it. It can easily break when performing any update of the packages, since it's a rolling release distro.

I don't think steam needs to worry. Win11 is not very popular for gaming from what I hear. Hell I'm still running windows 10. I refuse to update to windows 11 and all their spying apps.

Battery is the heaviest component of handhelds. If competitors literally need DOUBLE the battery to reach COMPARABLE battery life, then no, I do not think the steam deck is in any trouble lol

The ROG Ally X is only 60 grams heavier than the original Ally. I am more than sure that Valve is currently developing or testing a new AMD chip, which we might see in the near future.

I would still pick my steam deck LCD than ROG ally x because its much cheaper and it has trackpads and back buttons which i often use while playing. Also im not sure if ROG also its so easily repairable as steam deck. And i mostly use steam deck to play indie games platformers etc. and i rareley use 100% power of the deck

Actually some people said the reason who made sd oled better because the oled but I really love the buttons on steam deck lcd they are not stocking in the shell like steam deck oled I which if they used the oled buttons on oled not changed everything in hardware , and yes you didn't need to play all games, even the king of pc portable (ayaneo) the one made ally x looks like GBA hardware can't run all games ,some people think go and ally is the same power of gaming laptops or desktops
