Nice Video! For my Steam Deck I got majority similar items in the video except for the retro game card. The few things I would add to the list is getting a nice pair of gaming or regular headphones to listen to when playing games, getting a covering case for drop protection such as dbrand I got one for my own deck, a screen protection film, thumb and button grips, place holders for the thumb sticks to prevent stick drift and a L shape usb-c adapter for charging or external display connection.

I know this is an old video but I also wanted to mention an accessory that I really like with my steam deck. Having some kind of portable and small keyboard and mouse combo work wonders for me. I currently have an iPazzPort keyboard with trackpad (mine is older than what is shown on Amazon and still uses a dongle). I have this one cuz I found it for $10 locally and wanted a dongle (preference over Bluetooth lol). The trackpad is a lil weird (newer ones may work better) but it’s fantastic for portability and ease. It’s like the side of my hand. Super convenient especially on the go. Idk what is a recommended brand, I think WulffDen talked about it once, but I recommend something like this for it’s usecase lol Great video as always TechDweeb!

Best piece of hardware of bought in the recent past. Just finished the Final Fantasy XVI Demo through Chiaki on my Deck(giggity). Although I'm a super fan of the old school TBRPG's FF XVI is amazing, but I'm really hoping that FF Ever Crisis will be handled well(although I'm concerned about all this extra cell phone multi player gatcha they've shoveled into it). You actually use the steam controller???? Nice I used to have one but it gave up the ghost also still have my old steam link hardware too, but I prefer the native controls on the SD. Saw Hellblade on that portable monitor. Have you ever used surround sound headphones with that game, it's amazing just research how they made the binaural audio especially the banshee's that are constantly murmuring to you... it's quite the experience nothing else I've played like it. Hey geek.. Two questions. Does the SanDisk sdcard come in larger sizes? Could you make an episode about duplicating the sd contents onto a hard disc? That sd could also be still useful as a "backup" in case something happens

1. I don't think so, not from this company. There are other versions of this you can get on sites like AliExpress that are different sizes but I can't vouch for their quality. 2. Yeah that's a good idea!

I'm currently using a 512GB A2 Sandisk sdcard for my Deck and its been flawless. they recently came out with a 1tb sd card as well that is legit, though I can't speak on performance in tandem with the Deck.

I use the steam deck for games only. I have all those games that play best on joystick. I find I enjoy them more than playing them on my super OTT power house killer PC. Also there is nothing like curling up in bed and playing games on my steam deck.

@ 9:55 Correction: A 25,600 mAh battery can charged the Deck two times and not 5. A lot of people are confused about the mAh since most exterior batteries are measuring by 3.7 volts while the Steam Deck measured the mAh by 7.4 volts. It said on their site it's a 93.5 Wh battery. No battery is 100% efficiency so at best only 80Wh will charge the Deck battery while the rest turns to heat. I really wish batteries would state the Wh more instead of mAh. ( typo = mAh)

But I thought that a steam deck's battery can be fully charged by a 5313mAh battery bank (I learned about this in an article that tested it). Therefore a 25600 mAh battery would charge it (in theory) 4.81 times regardless of the voltage, isn't that right? Another similarly sized battery (the Anker PowerCore+, 26800 mAh) boasts that it can charge the deck 5 times. Are we all wrong? Maybe I should do a test and see how many times this can ACTUALLY charge the deck 🤔

@@TechDweeb The Deck battery is 5300 mAh at 7.5 volts while these exterior batteries is using the volt of a single battery which is 3.7 volts. I see reviewers get mad and claim these batteries companies are lying on Amazon because they didn't understand the laptop they were charging use a different voltage to measure mAh than the exterior battery. If you do the math 5.313 Ah times 7.5 volts = 39.84 Wh , around 40Wh for the Deck. A 25600 mAh battery at 120 volts could charge the Deck over 60 times.

About battery charging, 25600mah won't charge the deck 5 times. Battery efficiency is a thing and the 25600 is only what it's rated for.

Never do what this dude dose and put you Deck into any case for any amount of time while turned on. This demo and others seem to do that a lot and it is not good to normalize that to newbs or les tech-savvy. I should shut down as it roasts itself but that is not a good for longevity of your Deck.

That's a good point. I did it for the video, just so the steam deck didn't look like just a black rectangle, but you're right, always sleep or shut down your devices before putting them in a box unless you're trying to turn it into a big hand warmer :P

@@TechDweeb Sleeping them is a marginally bad Idea as well but better than nothing. My Deck has started up a few times from sleep with no obvious reason so I don't trust it. I run on the Beta updates to get those much smaller precast shaders(so much free space there) and maybe one of the THOUSANDS of betas was the issue.
