On Saturday May 24 I went to Dawlish to record two special excursions, one steam hauled, the other headed by a couple of Class 37s.
I arrived at Dawlish later than I had intended, thanks to South Western Railway, and that, coupled with the fact that the steam excursion was running some 30 minutes ahead of time, meant that I only got there just in time!
I then spent a while exploring a bit of Dawlish before heading back to Exeter St Davids where three Class 59s suddenly appeared, coming down from Central.
Then, to round off a lovely day out, I captured another special tour at Sherborne.
Happy days!
