It makes no sense to reconstruct a steam locomotive into battery electrics. Okay, maybe pushed by a battery powered booster vehicle. As for making the locomotive carbon neutral - just burn biofuel or wood…..

Thanks for watching! Given the environmental destruction and emissions wrought by mining for precious metals for renewable technology, something such as biochar sounds like a much more sustainable and less dramatic fit. Testing biochar and wood pellet alternative fuels are still on the testing phases, but surely much easier to trial and implement than a full battery/electric conversion.

It makes perfect sense to add a battery tender (like a brake tender) to vastly reduce wear, tear and consumption. It's sacralidge to just gut a steam loco for a fake rolling static display
